View Full Version : BvC: WTF?

I was in the public duel this evening and was fighting this very very annoying BvC. Basically he's just a standard BvC, but does not teleport.

I'm a hammerdin, and I tried to play offensive against him but everytime I tried to attack he hit me with invisible WWs. He WW aways most of the time, and when he attacks me his WW literally dodges ALL MY hammers (perhaps this barb can use weapon block). It got to the stage where I had to forfeit.

Now the better BvCs I've fought always play aggressively (with widowmaker...) and they give me trouble most of the time. Now this dude is above all of them, I can't even seem to take down his health half of the time, and he wears me down with his openwound and dual doom. There's just so little I can do. Hands down the most annoying duel I ever had.

Any input on how to take on barbarians who plays like this? (invisible WW, and always WW)

Try to predict where he is going. Desynch with hammers ahead of the direction he is wwing in. Eventually youll get him.

Hrmm.. you make it sound impossible. If he doesn't tele just spam hammer while walking around and create a huge and tight hammerfield. See if you can get past that.

Though this is very lame.

As lame as defensively wwing I guess. If he cries about it, just squelch.

Alternatively you can try teleporting all around him and spam hammers. Try to trap him in them so he has to take a hit to get out, but careful not to get hit yourself.

well he just used standrad technique to duel hammerins

just he desynched alot and you wnt into his ww.

if you start duelin very defensively he'll use widowmaker and make you

attack, and do the same long ww, or you will die slowly from ow.

High level holy freeze plus perhaps some slow from items. Make him crawl.

Odds are he wont have widow. Ive seen maybe 2 barbs that use widow in the entirety of my dueling.

Slowing ww is pretty dangerous. If you get clipped by a doomed ww, its gonna hurt.

Yeah. Normally getting hit with a WW is like hit-hit. A slowed WW is going to be like hit-hit-hit-hit. ;X

And I use a widow!

The problem is, the OP stated they basically never know where the barb is. The first step in controlling any duel is to know positions. I would rather have a higher damage opponent that doesn't go invisible than a lower damage opponent who is never where they seem to be.

Hmm yeah, but I think it'd be easier to just teleport 1.5-2 screens in away from wherever the barb seems to be and start launching hammers in a triangle. If you desynch far away enough, then he's going to be desynching you, yeah, but end up running into invisible hamemrs.

It's a pretty random duel then. It's all about who gets unlucky. I don't duel as hammer pally enough to say 100% what the best route is so take anything I say with a grain of salt. It's just that my experience generally has always been I want to know exactly where the other guy is as much as possible, even if there's a downside to knowing.

Just spamcast a Hammerfield and keep chugging those blue drinks. He doesn't teleport nor GA's. What's left for him to do?

Wait for you to run out of mana pots and then kill you?

Lol? Dual SoJ's + BO + 4 Super Blue's can last you for rather a long time. Most likely he'll go town and cry about your noobness for not dueling...

just desync, unless u run into me or mcm u wont have a problem, especially if they dont use teleport.

w/o tele u are a sitting duck to the best of the desyncers

Standing in one spot not moving and spamming hammers for minutes on end is, of course, not dueling either.

the best hdins i know make it suicidal to play defense.

they will eventually catch u in inv hammers, and pretty quick if u arent moving much (aka fort setup).

vs the best, using nigma+arch and maybe widowmaker is best. just predict where they are going and tele ww.

teleing aroudn also makes it very hard to hit you, in other words i only get hit when i attack (and since u cant predict their movments 100% you are gonna get hit). once u get the hang of it, it gets very easy. widowmaker is only needed if they go defensive on you once they get low.

ww desynches just like charge. especially since it's run speed server side and walk speed client side. all you have to do is predict where he is and vigor charge way ahead of where you see him on screen.
