I've presently got a lvl 95 mf sword barb with laxed stats and gear. He works pretty well for me but I was wondering if it would be a better idea to remake him into a spear/polearm barb (ebotd).
He's gone through many changes. went from a pure mf setup, to a laxed mf setup (aiming for more efficiency with gear/diminishing return mf) which allowed me to wear arreat's/raven/etc. Then he tried out a 100% deadly strike build which works alright. (grief, guillaume's, highlord's, gores, lanceguard).
Was wondering about going pole/spear for the increase in dmg. Would the dmg increase truly be noticed? If it would make a big difference and would be worth remaking the character, what type should I make it out of? Pike for the raw dmg? it'd be a little slow but would work out with ww in the end. Great poleaxe for the little bit of speed and lower dmg? ghost spear/giant thresher as possible but unlikely choices?
Let me know what you guys think. The last spear barb I made was in .08 when ww didn't rely on ias... :cool: So I don't really know how well they work as opposed to sword barbs in the newer patches. I've head that they're really the way to go if you're pvm... :undecided:
