"Held" Item Corruption Warning

I'm sure theres a technical term for it that I am not aware of, but when you are holding an item with your mouse, it seems that sometimes the item can be corrupted.

This has happened to me twice, once with a 4 os flail (just a little while ago), and another time with a kind of crappy pelt I was gonna sell for 35k. You'll enter that character as normal and the item will be hovering, however, you cannot drop it anywhere, and thus, you can't click on anything.

When you rejoin the game (the game was permed, why I know it wasn't just lag and I dropped it in a game that closed without seeing it drop) you will no longer be holding it, and it will be gone, presumably deleted.

I've held items like this I want to say hundreds of times without problems, and this has only happened to me twice. I just wanted to give you guys a heads up not to "hold" anything like this that you can't afford to lose.

Although I'll confess that I've never really used the item buffer thing for any serious amount of time, I've also never seen this happen. Most likely it might have come with 1.11 or something, but now I'm interested enough to play around with it abit (with crap items of course) and see if there's anything that triggers it.

Ya i had that happen to be before, i got pissed off.

In the first day or two of 1.10, a friend and I were muling, and there was a little bit of lag. We both went to pick up the same item, and he got it in his inventory, while I picked it up on my cursor. At least, I had the image of the item on my cursor; the very next game I joined showed an empty cursor. So perhaps there's something crazy going on and the actual item is never on the cursor in the first place.

Just happened to me with a greater mana potion in town.. what is weird about my experience in this was that when i got out of my game and back into another one my merc was gone.. (i was in act 5 in trade screen with malah) that got me somewhat mad since i dont have an additional 50k laying around at the moment..
