I would like to know how effective is it in PvP.Just as effective as agianst Monsters?Help Pls
It is not effective whatsoever. Battle Cry works as straight subtraction. Against normal monsters this is very powerful, since they do not have enhanced defense; thus -50% defense actually halves their defense.
Against players, however, it it useless, as most every class has some form of enhanced defense. For example, assume you were fighting a whirlwind barb with 500% enhanced defense from shout/ironskin. If your battle cry did -50% ed, it would only bring him to 450%, which doesn't really do a whole lot for you.

I dont know, but battle cry from some kind of barb (or cta ??) made my bvc barb defence drop from 8000 to 59. Imo thats very effective , but difficult to "curse" opponent without getting free hit

its useless in my oppinion as it works exactly as hal said in order for it to be even affective u would prolly have to max this or put alot of points in this which u will not have when building a Barb.
Edit
I also think this skill goes through a pvp penaluty where it actually get halved so instead of 50% ed it will take off more like 25% ed

additive nature of enhanced damage/defense bonuses/penalties make BC useless in pvp

That doesn't seem right. Did you have any ironskin or shout?

How does the %dr work? I dont care if it lowers defense effectively or not.
You see, i play BvB where 99% of ppl have less than 2k defense and no dr. Classic. Angelics hits all. But, the damage reduction, is there a penalty for pvp?
Fred
Again, it works as straight subtraction. Meaning that -25% is going to do jack against Skill/Weapon Mastery.

what about -45% (maxed) dr? Most bvbs have ~1k ww dmg, so im thinking it could be used effectively
Fred
That seems extremely low. I don't remember what the statistics were for those skills in classic, but now max ww + max mastery gets you 225% damage increase, no counting +skills and such of that nature. At a 44% knock to the increase (which is 20 battle cry), you're looking at 181%. Assuming you did 300 base damage, you'd go from 975 damage to 843 base damage, before the PvP penalties are applied. Meaning that after penalties, you're looking at an extremely miniscule amount of damage negated.

Yea, i had 1 point in iron skin and 1 point in shout
Something is very wrong then. Even assuming the barb had 20 points in Battle Cry, you still would've had at least 86% enhanced defense. There's no way a legitimate barb could have dropped your defense from 8,000 to 59.
