BvC weapon choices

Every guide seems to suggest grief / beast. My friend is rather adament about the use of at least one botd, if i could get some of you good BvC'ers opinions, i'd be quite thankful.

Also: Is your mainhand weapon speed the only speed considered when using whirlwind with 2 1hers (in terms of fpa). also, How does the grief's +dmg affect whirlwind? does it add it to each weapon or just the grief itself?

How does the grief's +dmg affect whirlwind? does it add it to each weapon or just the grief itself?It only adds to the damage done by the Grief itself, although you won't see bigger damage numbers in your char screen. The damage from Grief won't show, but you do do higher damage.

the whole point of botd is to make use of the dual leech, which doesn't matter in pvp anyways

I agree. BotD for pvm (no repair, high leech), Grief for pvp (higher damage, deadly strike)

Grief does way more dmg. Botd has +stats mod. But as it is a weapon, it's pretty useless, since you will only profit from botd's stats when dueling hammerdins, since you will need less str to equip your weapons. With a 26 str belt, 15 stats anni and 15 stats torch and 15 str draculs, you can go with base str.

But then again, grief does way more dmg. Even my 341 grief does more avg dmg than a perf EBotD. And also a perf EBotD costs more than a 34/340 grief.

You will need to hit the last ww bp, which is -34. Don't even dare to think about using botd+LW, or something like that. Won't work. So far i've beaten every cocky wannabe-BvC who has been using botd/grief+lw, since they just totally suck.

I also wonder, why these bvc weapon threads always comes up, blobs stated clearly that no other weapons will work. Botd, Grief, Beast, Doom, Fury, Widowmaker, Wizardspike 'Um'. Those are the ONLY weapons a BvC should ever consider using. Botd and Grief for main-hand, Beast on off-hand, 2x Dooms with at least -50% cold resi on switch, Fury in stash for es fb or lightning sorcs. Widowmaker for sorcs/hammerdins. Wizardspike 'Im' only versus VERY good ES cold sorcs.

yeah i CeOlba is rite u cant get no better that grief + beast or BOTD + Beast i also beaten a person who claimed he was a "BvC" using a BOTD+LW, he had ok dmg but where LW is too slow he was landing much less hits.

Some ppl seem to forget that breakpoints on Whirlwind is the most important part of building any successful duel character like a BvA or BvC

Also when i moved from botd to grief in terms of my dmg, it is definetly noticible and higher as i had a near perf botd and i use a Grief with 34 ias and 389 dmg and there is definetly a difference.

Beast is prolly the most important part of the combo imo to have as a second hand weapon. There is no alternative for beast imo.
