In Response to the Many Uber-Help-Seeking Threads

If there any way that we can get a sticky with the names and accounts of people who are trusted and efficient uber killers? Now that the balls show whether a member is online or not, it would be a simple matter to click on the thread and see who is online who can help you kill ubers. This service would be composed of members who kill for free, of course, but I doubt that will be a problem, since most do it for the enjoyment :grin:

Good idea. I'd be willing to toss in my hat for USEast Nonladder, though I'm not on as often as I'd like any more. My trustworthiness has already been proven in the USEast trade forums, most people who've been there for any length of time will recognize the annoyingly endless returns of Quietus's Torch Emporium - if I'm trustworthy enough to trade torches, I'm likely trustworthy enough to hunt them, I think? :wink3:

I would, however, not do this for free- I charge one Standard of Heroes! Which won't make any difference, since I'll only take payment after we're finished, when the ubers drop one for each player in the game anyway. :jig:

Thanks to Venge for starting this thread. Even as a semi-casual player I have solo'd the Ubers several times now with my Zealot/1pt Smiter, and it's just plain fun. With so many of my friends (the guys who got me addicted) playing less these days, I would love to help out when needed. My Uber running pally already has a torch so even if you don't know me, you have nothing to worry about.

Anyhow, I play for the fun of it. Finding other trustworthy people is the reason I joined these forums after just reading them for guidance for so long.

I can help with Ubers on US East Ladder, and although this is like my 10th post (probably closer to 8 but I want to sound athorative with double digits). I have a solid Zealot that can take a fair amount of damage. I do not need anything so drops are not an issue (unless I manage to get that freaking key from pindleskin for once and can open my own portal). I just want to help. I'm USEAST softcore Ladder, i have a level 90 smiter and a lvl 92 hammerdin and between the two of them i can handle any situation that can possibly arise in the game. I've got about 6 people on my Flist specifically so i can help them kill the ubers while they are keyhunting and getting organs, but odly enough i still get bored with not a lot to do online all the time.

well im a little disappointed that no one responded to my prior post. in the past it seems people have been more helpful but it doesnt matter because i was able to easily take the ubers. in fact i had more trouble with the furnace of pain than uber tristram because of the iron maiden(a game balance issue i hope blizzard addresses in the next patch if there is one). to anyone considering posting here for help i would say dont bother because i think its been 3 days since i posted and not one response. luckily the help wasnt needed.

FYI - Request traffic on this thread has really slowed to a crawl in the past month or so (less than 2 posts a week). As a result I have stopped checking in regularly, and that is probably true for others as well. not that i'm knocking anyone but it's basically like we're passing out torches here to any new kid on the block. it's like no one has to earn anything in diablo anymore. everyone just has some higher level higher powered person come along and do all the work for them and they take the credit. makes the game harder for those of us who actually enjoy earning our own items, and getting through the game, and actually playing the game for what it was meant to be played for. having someone get torches and kill ubers and do everything for you is almost as bad as ordering your character off ebay fully maxed out. so cheers to those who actually work hard to obtain what they have and to everyone else, have fun but i pay you no respects.

The people offering help usually enjoy the feeling of doing something that requires your attention (in pvm play that can be rare) and offer their help for free.

If I ever did ubers and could beat them I wouldnt hesitate helpin someone, especially if it is there first time doin ubers... I remember my first encounter with dclone, I used every penny and every rejuv I came across, I mfed for more money and lost that too (resurecting merc cause he was the main source that could kill dclone for me), there was just no way I could do it, so I asked for help and got it, since than I have encountered dclone 5 or 6 times and never needed to ask for help again, allthough I had friends with characters at lower levels with me so that was somewhat of a help..

I think if a person is out farming anni's/torches and never puts in an ounce of energy other than recruiting others to do it for them is disrespectful, but if a person periodically needs help than that is fine.. but if someone asked me every other day or once a week for months than i would expect him/her to cut me in on some of the profit the would be earning.

I have been playing D2 on and off since it was released. I got to reading about "uber's" and I reinstalled my game. Now I am interested in my first experience with "ubers" and need some help.

I have a lvl 73 blizz sorc and a lvl 70 sword barb. I am thinking of making a hammerdin and/or a smiter (especially after reading about smiters).

I am interested ina party that can help me with this experience and also to offer help with character builds (suggestions, someone to bounce ideas off of).

I do not have elite gear nor do i plan on having elite gear anytime soon. Everything I have I found or my buddy let me use. The best think I am using is a sword (Death) that my friend gave me. Other than that it's all uniques.

You dropped, but we managed to kill the bastard in no time. The start was a bit tricky however, I thought I had life tap on switch, but I messed that up in some ealier game and had to flee to town and assigning life tap to my switch attack. Dracul's trigged pretty fast however - I guess I could have been more calm and just wait for the Dracul's to trigger, but it was the first clone this ladder, so I wanted safety first :crazyeyes: The anni turned out to a a below average, but as Ktang said: "An anni is an anni!".
