Berserker Werebear Pker/Dueler

Hello, the idea of making a passion-oriented werebear has been stiring around in my head for the past day or so, so I think I'd like to get one together in the near future. He probably end up around 53ish range, depending on the exactly gear he'll be using. So far I've thought of this...

Passion Phase Blade
Whitstan's, 'Eld' or 'Shael' or ?
Shaftstop, pruby or 'Shael or max jewel or ?
Jalal's Mane, pruby or 'Shael' or max jewel or ?
String of Ears, to bring me to 45% DR. 100 life/single res belt for casters? (I have 100/28 cold)
Gore Rider
Bloodfist (IAS is useless, but the FHR and life is a nice boost)
Ravenfrost x 2


Now, for a weapon versus casters I was thinking of getting an eth Passion Thresher, but I realized the range is only two, so I'm not sure about that now. I could, however, make a Moser's with 2 prubies, one with 2 ptopaz, and one with psapphires for casters and just use the Phase.

For amulets I was thinking of using Cat's Eye in melee duels, but substituting it for a nice Teleport ammy to take on casters, as block isn't needed, which saves me points for more life.

As for skills there are a few possible routes I could take.

I could...

Max lycan/werebear/19 oak sage.
Max lycan/10ish werebear/18 oak sage/11 Shockwave for 10 sec stun
Same build, but less lycan and more werebear for more def/damage.

Merc, no merc?
Gavel on switch?

Back in 1.09, casting one Teleport charge on a Druid actually used up three charges... not sure if that's been fixed.

Merc will die, I wouldn't bother.

Berserk is 100% magic damage, so I don't see how Gavel of Pain would help you any.

Maybe I'm missing something, but this build doesn't sound like it has a chance in hell against anybody. Your attack won't even be half as fast as a FC Druid and your damage won't even be a third as much as a Zerk Barb.

we have considered a tiger strike berserk assassin for 1700% ED magical damage. berserk does not count as a finisher.

we have considered a paladin berserker with fana.

barbs can strike one frame slower while having more life and damage.

werebear with zerk? BAD idea. besides, you cant cast spells in wereform bar armaggedon and hurricane. might not even be able to use zerk.

Eh, looked funny on paper. Any other use to Passion, really? It's so cheap and I like items with classless +skills.

Zeal-Enchantress is about the only use, but I highly doubt you could make that work in PvP (huge issues with speed, FHR, FBR, tankability...).

Baranor, did you actually try that pally-zerker? I've had the same idea in the past, and discussed it with someone from here (but I'm not remembering who...)

Not to mention the fact that you can't use Berserk while in Werebear form. :evil:
