Weapon and shield questions for hf zealot

So right now my weapon is basically a regular sword with some leech on it. i have at the moment an Atlantian, but i am lvl 30 and its lvl req is 40 something, so i am in dire need of a good weapon to keep me occupied until i can use that, which i will use until astreons (if i can afford it). any other sugestions on weapons would be nice and helpful.

so for shields right now i have alma negra, but i won't be able ot use that until a very long long tiem from now (47 lvls). in the meantime i was thinking about getting a sanctuary shield to tide me over, but i would like to know what shield the runeword would be best used in. i know that a pally shield with high resistance will be good, but are there any other choices? i probably will never gte a HoZ, so my alma negra will do for the meantime.

and for armor i have gris body armor, its okay, but i am probably going to get duress later on. but i need a good armor for my lvl.

any help would be appreciated.

My hf zealot uses:
azurewrath,guil face,dracul,dragonscale,gores,metalgrid,nosferatu, duriel's shell,all res rings and some res charms and he is doing fine...

Mine is a holy fire, I call holy freeze zealots Frost Zealots actually.

In that case I would still use the same gear,minus the dragonscale and azurewrath,alma negra is good choice for endgame if you can max the resists from rest of gear and for weapon i would go with something really really fast like lightsabre with shael ,and get another 35% ias from gear for final zeal bp. 15% ias jewel in helm and armor and nosferatu belt will take you there,or a highlord's and one 15% ias jewel perhaps.

Don't make sanctuary, its required level is too high for you.

On lower level steelclash is a nice shield. I don't know if you can use fleshrender already, but that is a nice weapon. Else maybe crushflange for crushing blow and other goodies.

My frost zealot's gear is:

Weapon: Fleshripper
Helm: Vampire Gaze
Armor: Duriel's Shell
Belt: String of Ears
Gloves: Rares for now
Boots: GoreRider
Shield: Sanctuary
Weapon switch: Up'ed Wizendraw bow (sounds crazy but it actually works well!)
Ring1: RavenFrost
Ring2: Dwarfstar/Nature's Peace
Amulet: Highlord's Wrath

My merc:

Helm: Vampire Gaze
Armor: Shaftstop
Weapon: Bonehew

And I play on SP, untwinked. I've found all these items myself, as well as Heaven's Light and Nord's Tenderiser, but I still prefer Fleshripper. I have enough CB so that I virtually destroy any monsters in my way, CI or PI! That's basically the main modifier you should look for on a Frost Zealot: Crushing blow, in my opinion. It's the most helpful thing against immunities.

Crushing blow doesn't work vs physical immunes. A frost zealot needs speed,crushing blow indeed,a healthy physical damage output so he can leech and a source of non cold elemental damage ,could be magical as well.
