What is the best character to clear the pits quickly

Also what are the pits best for.

MF or finding good base items like monark shields

i need to find the best place to harvest items like dusk shrouds and monark shields

Actually for finding white items I prefer cows (with a javazon). Pits are good for MF because champions and bosses can drop from any TC, but this is not really needed for finding monarchs and dusks :wink3:

I've found great stuff in the pit(berserker axes, archon plates, dusk shrouds, HoZ), both socketables and uniques. The bottom line is that it's full of high level monsters, so you'll often find high level items. Just make sure you don't have too much mf gear on if you're looking for non-uniques. The most popular pit is the one found in Tamoe Highland, near the outer Cloister wp. It's easy to find, since you only need to follow the grainy path thats starts at Tamoe's entrace.

If you can afford him, your best best is an Enigma-equipped Hammerdin, as nothing is immune to magic hammers, and they can take more of a beating than sorcs due to the amazing Holy Shield. Equip a CtA on switch(1 BO are cheap now like 1 hr or less on east), and you've got yourself a super-fast key runner as well, if you ever want to.

Happy hunting:thumbsup: .

For running pits, the strafazon is the best builds, with no PI monsters spawning there. Check out the Amazon guide thread, its in there, it cant be cheaply made, also

necro fishy mancer with enigma... just travel in the bloodmoor to make your army and prepare to pop some fallen foes, I heard that a light sorc is good too... just depends on your play style

i have used my skele-mancer (aka fishy-mancer) for the pits and it is indeed very effective.

my friend uses a stafezon for the pits aswel...

my conlusion is that necros have an advantage because they can wear much MF gear without giving thought to their res/def (their summons act as their defense)

however, it is difficult to achieve a workable compromise between MF and survivability as a stafezon when working on a tight budget...

If you're harvesting monarchs and dusk shrouds etc, no mf is needed

a really good way to get your army is by visiting Eldritch, a modest merc should be able to handle him and his minions, while you pop a few corpses and raise the rest - he ain't half bad for mf'ing either

I use a Meteorb sorc with an Enigma.... Most baddies are immune to something, but very rarely are the immune to both cold and fire.... And even if they are, my merc can take them out for me rather quickly.... I do at least 10-15 runs per night, and I always have great results... Good runes tend to drop for me too.... As for base items, I'd recommend the cow levels....
