View Full Version : Bane - Hero of the North
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone was interested in reading it? It was up on the site a long time ago before the database was lost... I don't really think the grammer and such is good enough to place back on TDL anymore, but if anyone is interested, I have a 600 page compilation of Bane stories I can e-mail you to read, along with a Bane comic and other artwork I got people to do when I was writing it?
Just thought I'd let you know... thanks for your time...
(sorry if this is not the right place for this... delete post if not...)

I enjoyed reading the story originally, was it ever finished? I remember it was on TDL and also on a website, wiztobane or something like that. Did you used to post under Bane-Hero here?
PS: Did you ever continue Last Stand at Fort Paxtas?
Hi mate, yes, I used to be banehero on here, actually, I might still have the account, but I forgot the password!
I stopped Fort Paxtas because I wanted to write something set in that world but earlier, which I'm still writing (around 250 pages) set a couple of hundred years before Fort Paxtas and is about the rise of the Corinthian Republic... I will finish it eventually though and get back to Fort Paxtas ; )
I have about another two chapters of Fort Paxtas, chapters 12 and 13 that weren't posted here.
Bane was never finished, what I have is just a large collection of stories, some finished, others not... the last adventure of Bane can be found in Anyee's great story, Fulcrum... where he's reaching seventy!
BAAANNNEEE.
The is the right place for it. I do want you to put it back up. I also want you to re-add it to TDL because I've been a punk about doing it. In fact, I think we already have some of it in TDL, but we're missing the first few chapers. Can you check it out?
(By the way, er, check Fulcrum...the long-awaited crossover is at hand.)

So since you're both here, maybe you can give my brain a refresher. Bane was originally introduced in Fulcrum, with his fatal disease, and left to die an honorable death in the catacombs somewhere, right? I seem to remember this was only because you weren't going to continue Fulcrum for a while though? My memory is a bit sketchy about it all, and I may not have even fully understood back then. Thought maybe I'd ask, although I'll probably end up re-reading all of Fulcrum anyway since you've begun its continuation.

I can't speak for earlier versions of the story, but in the ones on TDL and here, he's quite alive and kicking, though still diseased...it'd likely be fatal eventually, but I wouldn't be surprised if something else kills him before it does.
Back on topic: feel free to post Bane - Hero of the North here if you want; I'd be quite willing to read and comment on it like any other story, if you want feedback. The only catch to my offer is that I'm behind on stories here and am not looking at a lot of free time for several weeks, so I wouldn't be able to get to it in the near future. Of course, I'm far from the only person on these forums, and I'm sure others will read this. Post some here if you so desire.

I just read from where I remember having left off on the forums, which was around chapter 22 I believe, through to where chapter 26 meets the section Anyee recently posted, 27. Man, I missed a lot!
RK, from what I can remember, it was a temporary fix sort of thing. I don't remember the specifics, maybe Anyee will fill us in better, but I thought Bane had been left to dye fighting somewhere. Dying from a disease was seen as unhonorable, so he wanted to be taken down in combat. My understanding at the time was that it would be continued, most likely with him as you said, "alive and kicking". After reading the new chapters, this seems to have come to fruition. Good reading in any event.
As far as re-posting Bane, I would love to re-read it, as I enjoyed it thoroughly when I first found it on the old TDL.
No, originally, Bane was intorduced in his own story, Bane Hero of the North, Anyee and myself thought we could do a crossover though ; )
Well, I asked her if she would be interested, which Anyee agreed too and might I add has handled very well ; ) Hmm, I might write some new Bane stuff which I'll post here!

I meant, his origional introduction into Fulcrum, I know he was origionally introduced in his own story, Bane Hero of the north...which I enjoyed reading when I first found it on the old TDL, quite some time ago now. I also remember PMing you about new updates and such, back in the day.
EDIT: I just read what I posted, and I can see how it was misleading, since I said "bane was origionally introduced in fulcrum" when I meant his first introduction in fulcrum, not his first introduction ever. Sorry for the confusion.
No problem mate, I am just happy you remember Bane ; )

Yup, sure do. I actually was wondering where you'd gone off to kinda recently, and PMed you, but I just figured you'd gone on to bigger and better things, didn't realize you'd forgotten your account info.

Thanks Rev, I'll get around to writing some new Bane stories (don't worry, I know your critique is worth the wait, so if I post anything, take your time with whatever you are doing first!)
