Smiter Questions

I have a level 57 smiter who i hope to use against ubers and i've maxed zeal, fanatacism, and about to max holy shield. I'm going to go with only the one point in smite. What should I put my other pts in? Should I max defiance for its benefits to holy shield? Basically, what pts will make be a better against surviving and beating the ubers easily. Also what are 1 pt skills i should put points in? I know Salvation is important against Uber Meph, but are Redemption and Meditation necessary? Redemption has a lot of prerequisites so i don't know if i should put a lot of pts in there.

Also, how much fhr do I need for ubers? How much life(and at what level) should i have before attempting to do ubers? I don't have call to arms to bo with.

For ubers I wouldn't max defiance at all. IMO you should max salvation and smite so that you smite the ubers with salvation as your aura. IMO redemption and meditation don't do any good because they don't really do anything for your smite and life in uber trist. So you just need smite, salvation, and holy shield while you get items with stacked crushing blow and lots of ias to reach the last smiter bp.

With salvation your smite speed will be low, perhaps too low

1. If you want to reach a fhr bp: 48% is good enough.

2. Defiance is good to max if you want to pvp with the same character, otherwise don't bother.

3. Resistances is the most important property on your character vs the brothers, a ton of light res and t.gods and Meph wont break your max res.

There are many who did just fine with salvation and smite. You can reach the last smiter point with a PB and 55% ias which is achievable. Imagine that you had a 3 socket PB with shael's in it. And you can use guillame's and gorerider then you'd already have enough CB. And then you can use a 45% resist all pal shield with p diamonds in it. This would allow you to solo uber trist IMO.

Phase Blade, mentioned commonly due to its naturally-high attack speed, when equipped to a Paladin.

Phase Blade is the only possible weapon you can use to reach the max smite speed without fanaticsm.

I. There is no need to max salvation.
II. You want as much Crushing Blow as possible (80+ percent)
III. My uber smiter is at level 81 and I find that he has no problems. However, he is equipped with the best gear (Enigma, Last Wish, Exile etc...)


I do have a poor man's smiter which works okay at level 80ish:

-Guillaume's face
-'Duress' Armour
-'Black' Flail
-Any amulet (I use saracen's)
-Raven Frost
-rare ring with resist
-Tgods
-Tearhaunch
-HoZ/Stormshield
-Bloodfists
-Lifetap wand on switch

Inventory: mass as much resistance charms as possible. I have crap one like 4% lightning resist SC or 19 fire resists GC. They all help against Meph's conviction.

Again, I strongly support vindicators for ubers rather than zeal. Need for AR is for knobs.

Certainy don't max savation,one point is enough,gear will rise it. But just overstack resists and use your fanaticism,i do that all the time. Redemption is useless in tristram,meditation not useful either. If you insist on using salvation,got with a shael azurewrath,nosferatu belt and highlord's for max speed.

He has to max salvation if his gear ain't good enough.

One point in Salvation is enough. Let +skills boost it further. Even with cheap gear, he should be able to pull together 3-4 +skills.
