View Full Version : New Project - The Hydra Sorc
Yes, I know this is a build that most people are not used to seeing, but I really am curious to know how one of these would work as far as gear, attribute, and skill points are distributed. Help please!

Sorceress Summoner, thus you must be prepared to sacrafice everything to keep your little 'babies' good and powerful. Skills are everything, some mana is quite useful as well. Faster cast rate will allow you to cast the hydras much faster so that is something to aim for but don't sacrafice skills for it.
Skills
20 Fire Bolt
20 Fire Ball
20 Hydra
20 Fire Mastery
1 Shiver Armor
Gear
Tarn Helm
Silks of the Victor
Hellplague Long Sword
Magefists
+2 Sorceress Ammy
Sigon Shield
Heavy Resist / Mana / Life rings
Fire Resistant/Lighting resistant boots
+1 From Tarn
+1 From Silks
+2 From Hellplague
+1 From Magefists
+2 From Sorceress Ammy
+1 From Sigon Shield
= +8 Skills
Finished product;
Level 28 Hydras
Lasting 10 Seconds
1791-2064 Hydra Damage
Cost 33 Mana

sounds crappy, and theory based. This is from experience :D
20 hydra
20 fire mastery
20 fball
20 orb
1 tele
1+ cold mastery
Shard + magefist for 70 fcr, get nice fhr + resists, you know the drill. It is the fastest killing cold//fire classic hybrid i have encountered, the downside? Main damage output is fire :/ (and a weaker hybrid with stronger orb would not be viable imo)

Forgot about teleport.
No, sacraficing skills for FHR would be foolish, it's not like you're going to be dueling (If you are..erh..have fun?).
Not to mention, orbs and hydras will not hybrid together. Mainly for the fact that hydras are weak little pushovers. It'd be more intelligent to hybrid with Fireball + Orb, infact I'll guarantee that's what the hybrid would do even if she was hydra base.
Then she would think "This is a much faster hybrid than crappy hydras".
And rush off to remake her weaksauce sorc.

I am not sacrifcing fhr for + skills. Some fhr (at least 30) is needed imo. An all + skills sorc like this will get her *** handed to her in pvm.
Did i not say this was from personal experience? The hydras kill faster than a orber with fball as a backup. On this build there is never a time when fball will > hydra. When there is a grid of hydras, they kill even high player setting cold immunes quick enough
Remember, i have played this exact sorc, you havent :)

you dont need it. 40 fcr is sufficient. 70 fcr is still nice for teleing around.. especially since this character is real great at running hell andy

Btw, yes, I will be dueling with this Sorc, and I will have fun with it, too.
