I have a question about smiter paladins. What exactly of the shield that the paladin equips will give more dmg? Because for example: a Stormchaser gives more dmg then Moser's Blessed shield. Howcome is this? Does this have to do with defense?
And what shield gives best dmg for a smiter, exile??
Thanks for reading :)

Shield's smite damage is not directly related to it's defence as long as i know. Here's the short list of some higher smite damage shields:
---
Barbed Shield - 18-35
Blade Barrier - 26-40
Troll Nest - 24-38
---
Gilded Shield - 20-28
Royal Shield - 24-32
---
Sacred Targe - 22-70
Sacred Rondache - 35-58
Kurast Shield - 10-82
Zakarum Shield - 46-46
Vortex Shield - 5-87
Unique, rare, magic or set versions of those shields give you exactly the same smite damage (for ex. HoZ (unique gilded shield) gives you 20-28 smite damage).
edit -> in the case of runewords it depends in which shield do you put it.

i'm making a smiter.
on shield damage, is it important to have high minimum-maximum damage or does damage just average out regardless of minimum-maximum damage?

Zakarum Shield - 46-46
Vortex Shield - 5-87
For simplicity sake, we're going to pretend the smite skill doesn't add damage. For the Zakarum Shield, you always know how many hits it will take to kill the enemy. For the Vortex Shield, it may take half as many hits, or it may take 9 times as many. Though the average damage is the same, The Zakarum Shield is much more steady. For relatively low damage enemies, the Zakarum will be much faster overall. For higher damage enemies, the killing speed becomes less pronounced, but there's still the chance of hitting for low end damage repeatedly and getting screwed.
I personally, like a high minimum damage.
If you're using grief though, and have +400 damage, then it really doesn't matter at all.
EDIT: you can find much more smiter information in the Paladin forum

Is there any item on NL like grief that add directly dmg to smite?

The Redeemer (unique Mighty Scepter) is one such item.
