Pure vita HC Hammydin :)

Well, im gonna be starting hc soon, not full time, just a side project hammerdin to climb the ladder for fun. This time im taking dougdady's advice, and am pretty much gonna copy him :D

Heres what i plan to use...

Twitch
3pdiamond kite
30 r/w lr fr boots
12+ strength life fr lr belt
Bloodfist
shard
+pal pris ammy
2X resist rings with 21 dex between them
3 pruby mask

This is just starting gear, as i get richer i will be able to get 80 fcr, +2 pris pdiamond shield, rare + stat res life armour, etc.

I made this guy in single player using editor and at lvl 80 he had 1.7k life no bo, max block, 6.5k hammers 50 fcr, and 75 fr//lr with conviction + lower resist on O.o

I <3 this setup, he still kills plenty fast with only +1 skill, and hes an uber TANK

If you can get 30% fc with magefist + 1 fc item i think there is little difference between shard and scepter in killing speed, but the scepter gives +2 to holyshield and redemption which helps alot i think.

Killing speed for VL's with sceptor is noticably faster for me, also seis minions fall like butter. You use shard on lvl 93?

No i use Scepter on lv 93 and Shard on HC but my HC still using a +20dex +10 str 3 socket helm as i havent found any good items yet with str/dex. Once i can get 30fcr on HC with decent resists i will move to Scepter.

Im not gonna play east cuz its hc community is dead imo, and me and the hc east clans dont play nicely... ~_O

Europe is the obvious choice, however, upon making the character like 2 days ago, there was only 1 game up in normal, with 2 characters in it :(

I think its the time diffirence that kills me, as the earliest i get on d2 is about 7 pm

Europe can be hit and miss.

Sometimes you can get a list of 12 normal, 6 nm, and a couple of hell games, other times you can be lucky to find 2 games across all difficulties.

If you do want to give it a go give me a whisper on either beltyn, uk-beltyn, or ukbeltyn. I'll likely be on the last one.

Have a half decent encher, plus might be able to spare some starting gear. Don't have much mind you but better than nothing :rolleyes:

Also if you need gear, head to op hc-1, you can often pick up the useful uniques such as twitch, forsties, shard etc. for a million or so gold.

East

It is fairly quiet, but I have a nice circle of friends on EAST allowing for priv cs and priv mf cs. You do have to put up with ESG edited at every turn as well. If I was starting hc on my own (for the most part) East wouldnt be the place.

I may do east. I normally would shy away from east, but to be honest if i make a hammerdin ill probably solo cs a lot more than i will pub//priv cs.

Then again, why not play on europe with steve + beltyn? :)

I play Europe HC and would like to find more ppl to play with trying to persuade my mates to play HC but they too worried about dieing :(
I got 1.2k enchant if you need help, plus able to rush etc...

its good to know that either realm i choose, a rush//chant is involved :grin:

Definately some inspiration to start hc. Ill let you guys know when ive made my decision.

Considering its sc, im going base vit, 50 fhr, stacked lr + fr max block, i was thinking mabye a tarn for more damage would be better than a 3pruby helm... and since im soloing the mf will be nice..

what do you guys think?

I currently have a lv 65 orb sorc with 375 MF. I guess if only having 1 friend on bnet (on occation) to play with, then i am new. I havnt had time to make a char on the ladder because iv been trying to take down tags. I am not a fan of clans (that are mean to anyone 'under' them). On the longer knote of playing d2, i always played LOD. I am finding Classic to be way more fun and enjoying my playtime in Classic.

This morning after finding not one game open on EAST i started a Europe char, I live in UK so struggle finding friends from back home at certain times. acc - its_rico starting a barb.
