Tal's Sorc

Just found Tal's Armor for the first time ever and can't figure out whether to trade it for runes or build a Sorc for the full set (what does the armor trade for, Gul+ or so?).

If I were to actually make the sorc I'd have a number of options, but the "givens" would be 3 cold skillers to reach slvl17 Cold Mastery, a 35%FCR 'Spirit' Monarch with no dex and Magefist to reach 105%FCR, and a Defiance Merc with Reaper's (just because I haven't tried a no block high defense setup before).

I've had delusions of making a viable tri-elemental sorc ever since I read a thread about it in the sorc forum. Orb is the obvious choice for a cold spell, while lightning and chain lightning get ruled out immediately since it's difficult to hit the FCR breakpoint. That basically leaves Fire Ball, Fire Wall, Meteor, Charged Bolt, and Nova. Nova sucks, and I hate FW, so maybe CB with pure FB or some sort of FB/Meteor amalgamation?

The other option, if tri-elem is just crazy talk, would be some sort of less popular dual-tree build, like Bliz/FB or something. At around lvl 90 I'd be doing ~4k each, or again I could sacrifice a little Bliz dmg and go Bliz/FB/Meteor.

Suggestions?

CB is an absolute blast, but it pretty much requires 60 points to kill.

Never made a Tals sorc although I could of a few times I seemed to just like other setups with Tals better.

I would opt for the Orb/Fireball, or Orb/Lightning and trade me for a light skiller. ;) Either way I hope ya get eshield if you're using spirit monarch. By the way, static works wonders with the -15% res on the orb. My old tal's set blizz sorc could bring down meph rediculously fast.

How could Static works better with -15% res since it does a percentage of life in dmg, and not a certain amount that can be raised ?...

That set was made for a meteorb sorc Imo . And as I already have one made I could try it out and let ya know how it works ...

because static now takes into account resistances, unlike previous patches. meaning if a monster had 50% lr and you static once, it lower the monster health by 12.5%, rather than 25%.

Do a straight Meph run with Static and Orb, then do one where you use a charge of Lower Resist on him first. There'll be a noticeable difference.

I forgot to mention that I already have an Orb/FireBall-Meteorb-whatever-you-wanna-call-it in the works, so that's not an option either. And I hate EShield with a passion...

my sorkky that got tppked was a tele/orber and my eth insight mercky who soloed pretty much everything except souls with conviction aura.
but as ofc said, talset is so seksi on a meteorber. or... your old sorc.
