Addicted to Gambling in Diablo

Does anyone else have this problem :)
I keep on doing MF runs, selling worthless items for 35k and then gambling away 2m gold in less than 5 mins ... :P

Usually ending up with either crappy magic rings/ammies or only ONE nice ring.
Or a mediocre ring which you dont want to throw away because it cost you 2m gold ;)

On a serious note, who has gambled +2 amulets ?
And what level do you have to be to have a more frequent occurence of +2 instead of +1.

Beside this addiction, I'm happy to say I've also gambled alot of nice ammies and rings. Perhaps people can tell me what they've gambled sofar. See if I should continue to do so, or just quit :)

On topic, you need to be at least lvl 86 to gamble +2 ammys, but i wouldnt start until 88 if you want to get good results

I've got a +1 +20 Prizmatic 9%DTM Amazon ammy.

On topic, you need to be at least lvl 86 to gamble +2 ammys, but i wouldnt start until 88 if you want to get good results

I gambled many millions with lvl 92 char, When I tried my first batch of gold at 93 I got 6 rare +2 ammy's (all junk) and 2 +2 magic ammy's. I noticed a huge change from 92 and had i continued to play SC GFing would have been the only pull.

Dang ... 86 ... onwards to CS again ... Only lvl 81 right now.

And I'll be happy with ANY +2 amulet, since I only have +1 amulets now.
And its alot easier then doing CS runs. Everyone is so DAMN fast picking up drops. :P

Get a char into the 90's, this is the only way of getting great at drops. Practice and timing and doing 1000's of runs. Although do it only if you enjoy it :P

I found the best way to snag an item (Not off Diablo) is to actually be farther away from the mini-boss than anyone else. When it drops, it usually gets dropped in a pile of White Items, Gold, Blue items, etc. So if you are too close and push ALT you won't see it, if you are farther away you'll see the name and click on it.

I admit it, I am addicted to gambling. In one week after getting my trav runner to 90 I had gambled three +2 priz amulets, and countless other crappy +2 rares. I also seem to get disproportionately high number of rare +2 zon ammies. All were crap so far.

You can gamble sets and uniques, but the chances are much lower than those posted by lukejames. I don't know where he got those numbers from, but I think the odds of gambling a unique are something like 1:1000 or 1:2000.

Honestly, I don't trust online sites for Diablo 2 Statistics anymore.
They are just horribly inaccurate.

Gamble often? all the time.

I spend a lot of time doing solo runs (just myselfs) and I get bored with waiting for a good rare item to drop, although I am a duke so Diablo will drop five-ish rares per game. I like grabbing ornates, ancient armors, chaos armor, staffs, wands, etc because I know they will always be counted on for the 35k and I at least feel productive. I usually end up maxing my carry-limit (920,000) by 5-10 runs, usually closer to 10, so I go to Jamella and every now and then I might get a decent amulet. I really don't hope to get a good amulet, I just gamble out of habit.

my computer lags
so I rarely grab anything (grabbed like 8 items during last 800runs)

however now I like to put random crappy gold and unique items so when diablo dies all the people grab the trash and I have a bigger chance of grabbing something
actually I never did, but I hope I will one day

Soloing cs is so much more fun, satisfying, and rewarding than pub//priv cs imo.

the only drawback is less xp over time, its trivial. Of course the only 2 characters that can solo cs within a decent time frame w/o dieng (imo) Is the hammerdin + frozenorb//thunderstorm sorc

I tend to agree here :)
My hammerdin does very well in CS.
I also do the Travi, who sometimes drop nice stuff. But mostly sellables.


Just a small Q here, kinda offtopic ... im guessing max orb/17mastery and full ES/Lit mastery ?

Plus all the one point skills, Tele, Static, Armor.

How high is your character that you're gambling with? If I'm not mistaken, the higher the character, the better gambles you'll get.

81 now ... just read I need to be at least 86 to gamble +2 amulets.
Preferably 90 or higher. Problem is that its a b*tch to level till that level in classic (as most of you know ;))
