View Full Version : Which golem is the best?
Hello, I'm a newb to Diablo (bought it exactly 1 week ago) and I'm a Level 76 Skelemancer (a bit of bone spear/spirit) who is focusing on PvP (yes, I have another post right next to this, but these are two different topics ). I currently am using the Clay Golem because my friend tells me in PvP it slows the opponents down for an easier kill. Is this the best way to go, or should I use a different golem? Also, what golem should I use in PvM? Thank you for the input :jig: :jig: :jig:

The clay golem will slow down the opponent, but most likely it will die (along with any other golem you would cast) fairly quickly. Most likely you'd use the clay golem against a tank opponent (Zealer, Barbs, Bear/Wolf Druids, etc.).
As for Pvm, you, being a boneymancer, shouldnt waste many points, so thus a point in clay golem and a point in golem mastery should suffice, although boneys arent really that great at PvM. Really spend your points on the synergies of the bone spells to be effective instead of branching out onto the summoning tree. Being new, you may be unaware of the Marrow bug.
Get a pair of Marrowwalk boots, and if you havent put points into bone prison, it will put a big boost in the synergy. (Check any of the Necromancer guides for more in depth on this).

The marrowwalk bug has been fixed in the last patch, if I recall correctly, as well as other synergy bugs with charges.

Also, what golem should I use in PvM? Thank you for the input Clay Golem in PvM. Clay + Decrepify + cold damage = monsters don't move.

Slow beats any advantages of the other types, plus its cheap enough to spam, and every hit on the golem is one that isn't on your merc etc.
Actually, I am a Skelemancer--summoner necro. I have high end gear such as Enigma, Marrowwalk, Shako, Hoto, Homunculus, etc. I just have some points into bone so I can do damage instead of sitting there watching my skeles beat people down. Thanks for the advice though... soooo stick with clay golem  ?

Interesting how you have, ahem, such high end gear after just one week of playing.
The reason I bought the game is because my friend who has 5 or 6 70+ was giving me all of his bone necro's gear so I could make a summoning necro and pvp with him.
If you think I'm lying and I don't have them I could show.
If you think I've bought it off a website... LOL
Anyways, advice? :jig:
::EDIT:: nevermind! answered my own question
