Fire sorc Merc weapon/helm

My fire sorc has an act 2 def. merc. Now im looking for a nice weapon to give him. I have choosen this merc cuz of his defence bonus but he does need to be able to kill the many monsters with fire immunities. WHat would you guys give him? The -fire resis on Obedience isnt working on my merc right? Insight is nice with the aura but i dont really need that aura and it doesnt do too much dmg.
And what kind of helm would be good? I could give him Crown of Thieves cuz of the LL but maybe you know something better with LL??
Would an act 5 merc be better maybe?

To me, the best merc for sorc is Act 2 defense NM, for holy freeze... in Hell, if mobs attack they'll touch your merc whatever his def. So go crowd control with Holy Freeze.
Best LL helms are Tal Rasha or Gaze. Crown of thieves is not bad, actually worn by my Java indight merc. But he doesn't need to kill, just to survive ^^.

If you want your merc to deal huge dmg, i kinda like the underrated merc armor Rattlecage... 25% CB works perfectly ! I also like Mourncorpse for IM, huge defense and very easy to trade. For the weapon, Hone Sundan, Bonehew are good.. i don't use many runewords for merc weapons, so i may not be of good advice.

Don't use better runes for your merc than you would on your char, except if your survavibility depends on it.

so for now ive got him Stone armor with just under 4k def, crown of thieves and insight. im probably gonna give him a new insight in some eth polearm to upgrade the dmg. looks solid for now...
