Is there anything in this game more satisfying than PKK-ing?

I picked up a couple of ears over lunch PKK-ing in Act 1 and Act 2 games. OMFG, what fun. What could be more satisfying than hanging just outside of town until they declare hostility and then handing them their a%s once they come out? It puts a spring in my step :thumbsup:

I must say I'm addicted to MF'ing and pvp or pk'ing just isn't my thing in D2. But I must confess witnessing a legit pk can be amussing at times (specially if that person was talking alot of junk).

I'd have to say, PKing the confident PKK. I just had one. I host. Trapasin just runs straight outta town, buddy 20 lvls means nothing, thanks for the ear though cutie.

To tell you the truth, I've never had the patience for PKKing. I always get sick of waiting around for nothing to happen and just end up hostiling the game myself, or going off to mf some more.

I like questing and MFing. All the trash talking of PK and PKK just gets me aggravated. SOmething to keep in mind though if my wealth ever extends beyond a clegs sword and sanders boots....

Closest I've come to PKKing is having a low (~27) sorc hostiled by a 31 pally then coming back with my 21 and chopping his ear off. That's more of a hybrid between a duel and a pkk, but whatever, still a very satisfying ear. Like PT though, I don't have the patience to sit around waiting to be hostiled.

No, pkk is a LOT of fun... did that a lot in 1.10 when it first started... everyone and their mom made chargers, I made a jabber and ripped apart all those 2-handers with ease. Highly amusing.

But nothing beats a good scrap with a bunch o frenzytaurs from an urn, doing hell nilhatak runs for the mf, and doing hell ancients three times within half an hour for the fun of it (yeah, the 3rd time was pushing it, I know).

The satisfaction of pkking is probably the most satisfying experience in D2 imo. The end result makes the wait worthwhile. Kinda like one of those western movies where the bad guys are running the town and an unknown good guy steps in to save the day. :evil:

I personally think PK-ing is lame and i have no intrest in it whatsoever killing highly undergeared people vrs a suped up char is just no fun it's murder i want some one to see it coming it's more pleasurable for me.

The thrill of hitting hostile then ventruing out to find your victom(s) - nothing even comes close.

Always loved PKing with my lvl 9 , I would hostile and people often 15 lvls higher then myself would laugh until I carved an ear or 2.

Almost enough to make me reinstall this dumb game

Of course, with the exception of one time, the only times I've PKK'd have been when I was PKing and the other guy hostiled first. Still, it's more satisfying to let them think you're a pvmer, then pull the rug out from under their feet.

Only thing better than PKK that I have heard or witnessed was someone talking an ITH user into dropping his item on the ground and it became an Iron Golem!

When I PKKed I never "hunted" I just played and when somone became aggrevating I went and got my guy and found his game, set myself up in my chosen battle ground and then offered a party invite so he could find me!

It is a shame how sooooo many of them *****ed while they lay dead.

Most fun thing is killing chicken users who think they're invincible, especially druids!

But it is quite fun when eth snappers were pking in a2 games and got rocked by my 16 zealot, ahhh fun times fun times.

i have a few things all more or less the same:

- anyone who has put forth the effort and has the patience for a real PKK knows the satisfaction that comes with it. Picking out a mark, following him around, plotting the best strategy and executing that strategy to perfection for the kill. I can't count how many times I lured a PK into a surprise 2 v 1, or played a little possum only to turn around and take the win.

- A few people who know my style know about the "sleeper." Taking down a mark with the sleeper is so satisfying....just so great. Some maphack lamer comes up and takes one look at your gear and asks for a duel. 5 minutes later i'm in another game dumping his "1337" items onto a mule.

- Winning a loot duel is amazing, winning a loot duel and trading the guys gear back to him for double the cost....priceless

- Countless hours spent with your good buddies talking about absolutely nothing of any importance late into the night

For me PK'ing was never satisfying. I had to settle on pk'ing once PKK became obsolete in 1.10. I mean yeah you could go out and kill a PK still, but we had a system, with marks and priorities, and more BtK ears than i can count ;) But killing scrawny pvm people, its amusing, but it just lacks substance.

Killing an ither back in 1.09 with legit gear. Now that is satisfying, especially since the bragging afterwards is doubly effective considering the guy lost all his paid for items.

Aaaah.1.09 iths were just fine. It was the damn bugged charms that finally made legit duelers useless.

Hey, Aza, did you trade back Exo's stuff to him after you killed him? He had some pretty sweet gear that a bunch of us helped him get and it kinda pissed me off when you refused to return it.

yeah that was a great kill/loot for a number of reasons

1) the gear was a great win
2) it was executed to perfection
3) I traded the gear to people from the misfits for maybe 1/4 of the price you guys offered because I didn't like your choice of words when you expressed your discontent with me killing your friend :)

You offered me like 3 wf's for the gear, think I traded the shield to one of the misfits, Pat IIRC, and I gave the helm to Henry. Used the rest for my own personal pleasure :)

I thought it was even funnier when y'all tried to get Dacy to get the stuff back and Dacy was like "exo shouldn't have been so stupid as to fight him."


You're right about killing Ith using chars in 1.09 with legit chars. I used to have a zon to fight ith barbs, and a sorc to fight ith zons. Zon was 100% against any non-tele barb, but struggled against those who could tele. Sorc on the other hand was undefeated, and even took a couple loots.

Yeah, I remember my old anti sorc baba vs 1.08 valor sorc with wf merc. I ran to town 8 times to get more juvies. He wasn't doing the damage, it was that damn merc since I had no dr%. Whenenver I managed to kill the damn merc, sorc always went back and resurrected. Finally managed to kill merc, and then instantly kill sorc as chicken activates so she didn't get any loot.

I used to wait inside a house in blood moor with my anti-zon sorc. The zons couldnt pop out of town and spam GA's at me since i was in the house, they'd have to angle it so they could shoot arrows through the door. By the time they ran around the house to face the door, I'd simply tele through the wall and land on them with a beastly merc/TS and a bit of nova for the win

Funniest moment of D2, killing some dumbass who says "if I had turned my chicken on this wouldn't have happened" (it was a 1 hit kill btw).

I still thinks its hilarious that people who botted to have massive wealth to trade for their "uber" gear was beaten by someone of the same lvl or lower, on a dial connection with ****ty fps on top of that. Oh and rubbing it in!

all BtK have bad connections.

it's like the BtK slogan:

"omg you killed me! I was lagging!"

or

"OMG my messenger popped up just as I stepped outside!"

(i know helz really does have a bad connection)

But it's just funny that on more than 5 seperate occasions, I killed BtK's and each of the 5 different duelers/pkers used the same messenger excuse. We once pkk'd a guy on europe (we always played on east). There was a huge *** downtime on east so we made some chars on euro and pkk'd this one guy. He was sporting the BtK tag and used the exact excuse I had heard on east 2-3 days earlier word for word about a messenger popping up. It was hilarious :)
