View Full Version : Act 3 Merc a Sorc?? 2xTrang? +18FB?

I could not find out if the Act 3 (fire) mercenary was actually a sorceress(er).

If he is not I wanted to put trang armor and helm on him to add +18 to fireball (I know an OSkill on a sorc will only add +3). Is this a possibility and has it been done?

That's a very interesting idea. As far as I know, the act I merc is a rogue, not an amazon, and act II is a desert warrior, not a paladin, so I'm thinking act III should be an Iron Wolf and, uh, not a sorceress, particularly considering his appearance. I'm just not sure if the + to Fireball will apply. Very, very interesting idea, though.

I also know that the Act 5 Merc is definately a Barbarian which can use the Barb Helms.

It makes sense, logically, that the only actual "classed" mercenary would come out in the expansion (with Act 5) and the rest would not have a specific class.

That was my idea but, it would be really nice to know the actual facts . . .

I'm pretty sure that's the entire point. +3 to his fireball skill would be useless, while +18 would be... fascinating.

Anyway, I just remembered something about mercs don't using Oskills at all.

It doesnt work... Secondly even +18 fball will not improve his damage significantly since they have no synergies or fire mastery.

I don't think anyone was hot to the idea that he was going to be an uber boss killer, merely that lvl 35 fireballs might actually bring him into the realm of usefulness.

I found out by searching through these forums. I searched all for "Iron Wolves" and found an in depth merc guide. He says it will just add 3 (He specifically mentions trang and ironwolves).

I exited and lost its location but if he is right then there goes that bright idea.

Lastly, I just wanted to let you know my idea for the merc. I was planning to have an auradin with maxed conviction and a high powered fire merc. Hopefully the combination of Conviction, Holy 30Fire, 30Shock and his level 40+ fireball could take them down. I am always plotting my next "original" plan.

As usual my plan is either not original or doesn't actually work.
