Moser's Quiz

My sorcy is currently using a 2 pdiamonded moser's (level 84 atm). At the time of her conception I didn't have any good max block type shields (read: Any shields at all), and so I went pure Vitality on her.

Before the moser's she was using a ancients pledge large shield, which got me 13% chance to block (woot!) Anyway, with the moser's she has a whooping 23% chance to block!

When I teleport, I have the Ph34r! Just telying the wsk in nm is scary.

Am I correct in my understanding that if I upgrade the moser's, it will have a str requirment of 100? And will its % chance to block be improved? (Since the shield it's mods are based on is improved, it only makes sence that the +25% chance to block mod would improve it even more, maybe?)

She has:
75 str (70 before gear)
60 something Dex
321 Vit (thats like 904 life)
base Energy

Bleh, Obviously (If I understand the str requirments properly) I can't wear the upped moser's. But by the time I hit level 89, I could have 95 str, and make up the last 5 with charms.

Course even then I will still only have 60 something Dex. I don't imagine I will get her much over level 90 ever, so maybe I could squeeze 70 dex out of her, and a little more from gear and charms

Obviously I'm not pretending to get to max block here, but do you think the "improved" block would be worth the trouble at all? Or should I just put my last 30 stat points into Vitality, and build a new Sorcoress later?

Finaly, its Ko + Lem + Pdiamond + the moser's to get it Upgraded, right?

the chance to block will go up 8% in the upped shield.
With 70 dex, you'll have a 20% chance to block @lvl 89, and if you manage to get 90 dex, you'll have a 27% chance.
IMO it's not worth the upgrade, at least not for your current build

Not worth it with only 60 dex. Your chance to block will only increase by about 3% initally, less by the time you can actually equip it.

hmm... yes I see!

I knew the improvement in blocking would be small, but I didn't realize it would be that small. I guess I wasn't considering the fact that it would continue to go down as I leveled up.

Thanks for your promp replies guys! Otherwise I would of had to of wondered about it all through my next class!

I found 2 moser's though, and I still really want to Upgrade one of them. Maybe I will put it on a barbarion. Good, now I have something to wonder about and distract me in my next class!

Honestly If I were you I would remake her. IMO your better off using the points for dex and getting life charms to make up the differance. My old sorcs all went max block but usuaally with an upgraded Visc~ defender and I would use any old charms I found and upgrade as I found better. Even with junk charms you can hit over 1k life easily and still maintain maxblock

Well she died last night, so now I have a very good excuse to remake her! bleh...
I got looted though, which is nice. So the new Hps_Flamer will be even more powerfull then the last!

Mosers is nice for resists but IMO Id go with a shield with at least 60 % block . Ie - Grim Rhyme or Upped Visertuant . Iv'e always been a fan of the Grim Rhyme as the best shield . What else could ya ask for in a PvM shield - MF , Resists , CBF , extra gold , faster / increased block rate , regen mana .
