bliz sorc for uber-bashing?

i'm following this guide:

i was wondering if this type of sorceress (pure bliz sorc) is suitable for uber-hunting? (obv as support, i am not attempting to solo uber trist with this build)

and what gear should i be wearing? currently i am wearing:

helmet: shako (um'd)
armour: ormus: 15%c, +3 bliz (4/4 cold faceted)
gloves: frosties/magefist (?)
belt: snowclash (i opted for this instead of arachnid mainly for the cost... and the the synergy/bliz bonus snowclash gives me)
boots: waterwalks (?)
weapon1: occulus
weapon2: "spirit" crystal sword (?)
shield1: moser's (upped, 2pdia)
shield2: whitstan's (?)

*(?) = not sure what i should have really... so if you could help me out, that would be good...

i dont think any sorc would help much in ubertrist. not even a fully decked out lightsorc with infinity as mainweap.

Besides, you don't need support in uber trist anyways. You can do it even with cheap gears.

Have you ever been to Uber Trist? If you have, then you probably forgot that about 80% of the monsters in there are like this:

Fire Immune Cold Immune Lightning Immune Magic Immune

So no matter how boosted up your Blizzard is, you'll do squat damage to everything except the actual bosses, which is not enough considering you'll get swarmed and creamed by basically every monster in there. ^_^

Just to clarify: +skills don't give synergy bonuses... i.e. the bonus to Blizzard on your belt will obviously increase your Blizzard damage, but the bonus to Glacial Spike will do nothing for your Blizzard damage, and vice versa.

CM do not break immunities. Your Merc would have an extremely hard chance breaking immunities of monsters, and definitely not bosses. Besides, he will die within matter of fraction of seconds. Along with you. Ubers > Caster Sorc.

It is sometimes nice going into the ubers with backup, but basically the only successful backups I've seen have been:

-Barbs to cast BO and lay a little smack down on the minions.
-Amazons to blanket the minions with multi. Superdave mentioned one time using "Causes Monster to Flee" to keep the minions running away from the fight, but I haven't seen this in action.
-A Necro, to manually cast lifetap and possibly draw some of the minions off. You also hear about using ressurected Urdars to add some more crushing blow.

Sorcs are generally my favorite class, but they just have no place with the ubers.

The only backup you'd ever "need" (notice the quotes) is a Zerk Barb. BO and Shout are obvious, but anyone who hasn't experienced what maxed Howl can do down there needs to try it out ASAP.

The only "backup" (more like they killing for you, while you tele for safety the entire time), is either a Frenzy Barb with Howl or a Smiter. Zons with monster flee? Bowers die way too fast. The only thing necs good for is a bit of minion control with summons + wall, and unless you need Life Tap, you're better off without any of em.

well, I meen, my sors is level 82 orb, I killed uber baal with my friend smither lvl 70, we actualy killed him in like no time but I do admit that sors have no place in uber killing, smithers are betting for uber killing (I find)

basiclly,if u wanna do ubertrist make a smiter and not a sorc.
