Just wondering people that go blizz/tk do you put all extra points (besides tp/es/warmth/etc) in glacial spike and try and max that. Or do you find uses for ice bolt / ice blast and max those instead, or put a combo of points between the three (for synergies)?

ib for the win~!

i tried gspike on my first one and didn't like it, because blizz doesn't always hit and i wanted some secondary spell to kill off the ones that blizz didn't. ib's damage scales up much faster than gspike.

and 1 pt in gspike is enough for what you want it to do: chill monsters. max ib does the actual damage.

I agree with the damage part Xey mentions, but I still go with Max Glacial......frankly when I use it most I am solo and it kills just fine. I also use it early alot and it really pays off in Act 2 and 3 until Blizz comes along. It also pays big doing Andy and Pindle runs.

I like to control my situation, and a skill like Glacial allows for control and if its powerfull it brings solid AoE damage. If the Blizz misses and they arent moving I only need to move a bit and Blizz again and I know it will hit.

xey, I can only assume ib = ice blast and not ice bolt, but in terms of damage ib vs gspike they look very similiar:

Level 20 IB: 273-287
Level 20 Gspike: 247-266

I guess I'll mess around with IB/Gspike and see which I like better, any other blizzard sorcs have opinions on which skills to synergieze for blizzard?

1. Those numbers don't account for +skills (+4 is easily attained even untwinked).
2. Those numbers don't account for synergy bonuses.

If you assume that Blizzard is also maxed and you have +4 skills, this is what you get:

Level 24 Ice Blast: 940-982
Level 24 Glacial Spike: 311-332

Yeah, slight difference...

If you max all three, your Glacial dmg will go up to 580-620 but your IB dmg will remain the same.

Ice Blast is indeed nasty, the TPPKers dont use it just for kicks its got PUNCH!
