Hey all. I'm starting up an Enchantress, and I've read all of the relevant guides available here. I had a few questions that I'm hoping you more experienced folk can answer.
1) I am a very big fan of IAS, and will gladly stuff all six sockets of a weapon with Shaels. Given that my gear gives me good amounts of crushing blow and great AR, would this be a sufficient main weapon? I'm banking on the fact that the high speed will help deliver massive fire damage and CB consistently. (keep in mind that I'm currently not very close to making any delicious runewords, i.e. Oath, Kingslayer, Beast, etc.)
2) What's the best way to deal with fire immunes? I expect answers involving Dream and such, but again, I'm still quite poor from outfitting my last character. I'm thinking Static Field + merc, or maybe even a Lower Resist wand on switch. Any ideas?
3) This sounds stupid, but I'll ask anyway because I have very little experience with melee characters. Does crushing blow affect physical immunes at all?
Any answers will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
DOnt know very much of enchant sorcs but ill just say that if a monster in hell is fire immune, it _usually_ stays that way, whether or not your using lower res wand, infinity or both.
Thats why you should have a backup skill. A fully synergised enchantress doesnt require alot more than 60 points. The rest can be put into a skill of your choice. Frozen Orb is a common (?) choice, which is pretty easy to synergise.

Actually, Infinity would allow you to knock almost element immunes off from over 75% of the monsters. Only Unique Monsters/Super Uniques, and a couple of other monsters, can maintain their immunity against Infinity's Conviction and Lower Resist. :fortuneteller:
Unless you don't ever intend on getting a Beast weapon for your Enchantress, it's not a very good idea to get a 2ndary skill, unless you like to morph over and over.
And a big YES on the IAS weapon. An Enchantress's best friend is a Phase Blade with 6 shael, since you are not by any chance relying on physical damage. (but again, your IAS frame won't be too good without Beast)
However, if you don't have a Beast weapon, your enchantress probably won't be a very success one combat-wise, but a pure supporter instead. Low HP and melee character just doesn't add up, especially considering that you won't be able to benefit much from LL at all. :hide:

make a passion. then u get zeal. much better then 6 shaeled pb with or without beast. Because zeal is interruptade wich means the annoying fhr wont take ur time.
I have to try the passion thingy. Any other ideas on where to spend the resting skills and stats other than orb? Mana shield to indirctly increase life? Or both?

1) I am building melee Enchantress too (this is 5th or 6th Enchantress so far). Now she uses that uniq. quarterstaff (50 IAS, 50 crushing blow). For max speed (9 frames) 125 ias is needed and 75 ias is enough for 10.
Uniq. cryptic axe is waiting, that gives 120 ias (3shaels in three sockets) and
with that 174 ias is needed for max speed (9frames).
Phase blade max speed is 10, with 48 IAS, so that is no option. And who uses
one hand weapons anyway.
She uses that energy shield, some points in telekinesis and items gives -50 magic damage reduced so she stays alive just fine.
She soloed nmare baalrun at lvl57 and now at lvl58 she has done first two q
in hell without any problem.
Crushing blow and decent physical damage takes care those fire immunes.
No she has about 400 life, 1000 mana, still 120 unused points, all resist about -40, 75 crushing blow, lvl 33 enchant, -40 magic damage reduced and about -30% physical damage reduced.
3) That crushing blow dont help with PI. Those fire and physical immunes I am planning to deal by changing weapon. This my girl is fighter, so she wont use those frozen orb etc. spells. But luckily there are so many good weapons to choose from, so those immunes will go down eventually.
