Moving Out of Poor Man Mode

I think I've muled enough rare gear to start putting together some real characters and move out of the Poor Man's shack for a while. My first project will be a Hammerdin. His function will be mainly HvA, while being able to survive and kill in Hell CS runs. Here's what I have for him so far:

Helmet: Still looking for FHR, Resists, Str (?), Life Bone Helm
Weapon: Spectral Shard
Shield: Still looking for 17/30/20, +2 Pala, Priz Bone Shield
Armor: 17 FHR, 39 ED, 2 Dex, 31 Life, 23 FR Mage Plate
Gloves: Magefist
Boots: 30 FRW, 34 ED, 7 Dex, 14 CR, 25 LR Boots
Belt: 17 FHR, 74 ED, 20 Str, 35 Life, 24 FR Sharkskin Belt
Amulet: Need help with deciding on mods for this
Rings: SoJ, Need help with other ring

Not the best gear, but I'm still searching for better legits. Suggestions and useful comments are greatly appreciated.

I think it's important you look for +dex on ring and amulet. You should also try to find +10% more fcr from gear to achieve the 80% breakpoint, otherwise switch gloves from magefist. I would opt for a higher stat/higher hp/resis armor that may not have fhr/defense.

For pvm I am skeptical about using soj, I think it's always more useful to socket your gear than the +1 skill and losing valuable hps,resists, etc. For pvp, however, the extra damage may be more important. I think you pretty much have to use a +2 amulet if you are intending to pvp. If you do have a +2 shield, you may do allright without using a Soj on ring.

It looks like the highest str req is 55, for your mageplate. Are you willing to invest those 10 str points? I would opt not. if you find +str on gear, to get you to 55 (I beleive you still would need 10 or 15? because of +20 on belt, and pal starts at 20str?) you still might be missing all the + dex to keep your stats base. Have you considered a scepter pal? But... beware... I've spent many hours gambling and the best scept for FCR I found is 10% fcr +2 blessed hammer ( I do have a +2 +3bless hammer but not FCR) you would need to get to 50% FCR so if using magefist then one more fcr item.

Str mod doesn't appear on helmet (except mask of horror... Godly!!:shocked: ). I would try to find higher resist boots, the dex is not as important here because you are losing so much potential resist.

Ah, I knew there was only one helm with Str. Now my friend owes me a SoJ for that. :thumbsup:

Edit: Yes, I've found a +2 Pala FCR Scept from Droggy, but I intend to put that on my all blue (item) Hdin. :jig:
