Is this some weird glitch?

First off, sorry if this already been posted elsewhere, i didn't see it. Ok, i've got a decent rare orb for my lightning sorc, the mods in question being: +1 light skills, +1-348 lightning damage. Ok, not a huge weapon, but it's nice for me. With it equiped i do 28-1420 damage. With my regular attacks, as in melee. I checked this by killing a couple of things in NM, and it was one hit killing. The weirdest thing, taking off +skills items reduced the damage. Is this some weird + lightning damage bug?

I would think that by taking the +skills items off, the level of the lightning mastery reduces, thereby reducing the lightning damage. However, the masterys effect is explained in AS as "Increases the damage of lightning spells"
And your normal attack isnt a spell... Makes you wonder. However, AS isnt exactly flawless either. Only solution i know...

Masteries (and other +% elemental dmg) have the habit of also multiplying elemental dmg added to melee attacks. The Lying Character Screen also shows it increasing elemental dmg on ranged attacks, but that doesn't work.

Im with the other guys on that one. Are you using any charms/wacky stuff I haven't heard of that add % to lightening damage? Lit Facets, anything like that?
