Best Full Tal Build plz

Hi all,

I've been a longtime reader of these forums and have decided to post for the first time. Please excuse my English, I'm French and play Europe HC Ladder.

I am the recent owner of a Hell-Pindle Tal Armor :grin: , and have decided to go Full Tal for a godd balance between MF and Efficiency. (not rich enough for shako, CoH, Griffin etc)

I was wondering which build you would advise me to do, since i haven't played much since 1.09 (yeah, yeah long time ago) and I am not aware yet of all the news involved with synergies and so on.

Only thing i know, is my old favorite build (Orb + Storm) is now obsolete... and i've never played fire tree.

Would you recommand Light/FO despite the different BP for CL, or Meteorb (which i'm not sure yet i know how to play or have the patience to).

Plus, would it be wise to use ES at all : no point, 1 point or go the full way ?

I still lack the Tal amu and the Monarch shield :undecided: , what each piece is worth nowadays ? I have some Pgems, legit runes which i won't mention since it appears to be forbidden here, and mid-level good stuff, as well as a Key given by summoner.

I'd say either go Meteorb, or FB/ES. Or even Blizz/ES. Tals can be great on sorcs.

1 in ES can be good enough, even though you should max Telekinesis.

Being an HC char, I think you'll be best off with a meteorb build. If you decide to go for one you should check out http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=130054 if you need ideas on how to play or something :wink3:

You're free to mention what runes and gems you have here, and someone might be able to give you a rough idea of what they're worth.

I don't play hardcore, so I'm unsure of the value of items there, but if you use the Trade Values forum, you should be able to get an idea of the value of the rest of the equipment you need.

Over here in SC ladder, Tal's ammy is worth about half of the value of the armor, and the sheild is worth half that.

I'm afraid that if i go Meteorb i will have difficulties for countess runs, is CL/FO such a bad idea with Tal ?

Luckily countess is so easy your merc can kill her in a few seconds, assuming a moderate to good weapon (elite insight even non eth would do) while you watch. A couple of fireballs deals with the minions.

I have a Tal's set meteorb (missing the ammy dammit, currently using eye of eldritch) and for the countess I just telekenesis her into the wall while my merc works her over. I'm much more worried about tele'ing into a pack of archers or something than I am about the actual countess

Storm shield sucks for mf.

Unless you're talking about a 4 socket monarch with 4 ists? The 156 strength requirement for the monarch is too much for an mf sorc, imo.

I don't see the link bewteen str and MF.
The Monarch was for Spirit, but I won't use it, i'll go max block.

Ists are out of the topic, i'm not wealthy enough to even get one. That's why Tal's is the best outfit for the MF/survivability/firepower balance.

Still need to make up my mind on rings and shield. No need to mention Sojs, i don't dream to find one... Maybe a ravenfrost, but as castrate is not affected by cold, i don't know yet. I have good rings 10fastcast with resist, maybe i'll take them.

For shield i'll try Whitstand, Visceratuant, Moser or Gerke to see which fits best to my type of play.(don't mention Storm either huh)
