Hephasto runs with Meteorb?

I am building a meteorb which, among other things, I am going to use to rush new characters to Hell forge for rune drops.

Now, Hephasto has 75% fire resist on Hell, so I would have to rely on Frozen Orb kill him.

Has anyone here done this with a meteorb, and have you been succesful?

By the way, what exactly is spectral hit?

A merc with good resists and leech should be able to stay alive against him to tank while you blast him with FO... Can't imagine why it would be too hard.


Spectral Hit adds random elemental damage to the hit, and it might actually add all 4... Not sure exactly, but I know it can hurt. :P

Yup, I do it often with my meteorb with not much problems.
As rruhland said, good tanker merc is a must.
TIP: enter last wp and take a look at the monsters types u find to see if run is easy or not. Personally, I hate ranged mages (I think they are oblivion lords or some weird name) so I restart until they do not spawn.

So I have to get some good merc gear. It seems to be what this game boils down to. Pretty difficult for a poor guy like me ;)

There are some inexpensive items you can get for your merc. Mine has a Duriel's shell, a Tal mask and an Insight Colossus Voulge. There is probably better gear but these are relatively cheap and easy to obtain.

In SC ladder, even a decent Vampire Gaze is going for a pul or less now, and I consider that to be very high quality merc gear.

My merc survives and thrives in hell with the following:

low socketed Gaze.
Shaftstop (price is also pul)
Insight Cryptic Axe - non ethereal - axe cost me lem, the runes are freebies.

His resists are only 48 to all in hell, which sometimes catches up to him, but other than that, he's solid. I think his damage is 600-1600 or something, which means he can kill easier guys and some pesky immunes just fine, damage to him reduced by 50%, which makes a tremendous difference in his survival. To top it all off, he's giving me lvl 17 meditiation!

I really can't say enough about investing in your merc. After my current experience, I would say there are times when improving your merc should take priority over improving your own gear. :thumbsup:

I use duriel's (non-eth, non upped), andy's, and eth insight CV. Granted, the CV costs a bit, but the rest are relatively cheap.

how to rush character lv 1 into hell?
i have tried it but it was failed
when i reach act 5, it says can't complete the quest

How to rush a char lvl 1 to hell:
Either leech the Baalquest from someone or use classic, where there is no act 5. For leeching the quest, you have o be in party with someone, who is in the Worldstone Chamber and geting the Baalques himself.

How to kill the Smith:
Give your merc a lot of damage reduction, life leech and a high damage weapon and he can tank Hephasto all the way.

Vampire Gaze is good for 6-8% ll and 15-20% dr
Upped Shaftstop is good for 30% dr and good defense
Reapor´s Toll is great for good damage, up to 15% ll and the chance to cast decryptify, which will slow the attacker by 50%

Put an um and a shael in the armors, to fix the mercs resistances and hit recovery and socket annother shael in the Reapor´s Toll to get decryptify off fast.

With that equipment your merc can do Hephasto alone.

Nearly forgot. Take a Holy Freeze Merc.

You have to wait in Act 5, as you won´t get quests from people in other acts.
