Hi all,

There is no cost.
No worry about getting the Torch, I don't want it.(I hear they lag)

I just wanted to see the ubers once.

I have several good characters but the one I recommend is lvl 91 palidin the Healer.

I don't know why but with Uber-Mephisto using Conviction it seems that it would only be logical to have a character who uses Salvation.

He has Holy bolt maxed with all the Synergies. He has Guardian angle armor with Spirit shield and either wizard spike or a FoH septor, Natalyas etc.

Let me know.:listen:

Sorry to say this, but I don't think your healer can help much in uber trist. For a smiter (or similar capable chars), he can solo uber trist w/o problem; for a weaker char, you can't really help to kill the ubers. Your healing speed won't match the attack speed of monsters in uber trist, so all you can do is to add some more life to the monsters due to the increased number of players:). However, I'm just saying that you can't help in uber trist, not that you can't go in and have fun:). Just don't expect to do too much there and make your own survival your highest priority. You should post your realm/ladder btw.

Yes I know,

I was thinking of being just a spectator givinga litle bit of help to, say a smiter, who could use Fanatacism the whole time instead of switching to salvation for meph.

My holy bolt does more than 8,000 damage to undead but even at that it takes 3 or 4 hits for me to kill a single doom knight. When I use FoH I can spread out the damage but then it only does 2,000 per bolt and that is only to undead. Compare that to the massive wide area damage that s sorc or a hammerdin can deal out to all creatures and Holy bolts are truly a underpowerd skill.

He is tough as nails though. All resist at 90 without the aura. I can be the first to enter the throne of destruction on a baal run and, if there are mosty undead lords, doom knights and gloams, I clean up, mostly it kill the gloams.

Don't worry though I read a good descritpion of what Uber Tristram is like and I think I can go from there. My only question now is:

Is it better for a smiter to go in without the Merc? Due to the fact that they might draw that other Ubers over I mean.

Yes it is better without the merc, because they can't do any dmg (except for maybe killing 1~2 minions) and the risk of them attracting other ubers too soon is too big.

let me just say: A healer is awesome, when ever I do trist runs I do it with a friend (hardytarget) who uses his healer, that has helped me many times from dieing, I rarely die, when i think about it I´ve only died once due to HUUGE lag, so to say a healer is useless is wrong, with lawbringer the minions go away, and the are sweet with holy bolt to heal you, along with cleansing its alot +life per 2secs, and they are very cheap to make.

IMO an excellent helping char.

I might have underestimated your healer. The healers I've played with so far (none as high-lvl as you're) all die easily in uber trist. Say I'm relying on the salvation aura of the healer, the sudden death of the healer usually causes a sudden death to me as well, so at the end, I just tend to forget about the existence of a healer. If your healer can survive well in uber trist, I guess he will be a good help then.
Merc dies too easily in uber trist, and only attracts more minions. I usually bring my merc when killing the minor ubers and see how far he can go, as soon as he dies (which always happens), I just forget about him.
Edit: I do have 3 key sets now that I will use for another run today or tomorrow. If you happen to be on USWest Ladder, I don't mind you joining, but I will need the torch though.

Trist Runs? We were talking about Uber Trist

Still, I didn't say that they were useless, just underpowerd:

- The healing is mostly a convenience since most high lvl chars only die through a big enough hit and even if they dont die, they have already hit a Rejuve potion before the healers measly healing bolt can even reach them.

- The damage is almost decent if you shoot one bolt at one undead but you would expect it to be higher for something that can only kill undead and the cast rate is slow. But the worst thing is how the bolt is obsorbed by characters who might not even need it. Amazons, Sorcs, Throw barbs etc. can all do damage from the back lines but not the healer. Instead of hitting a death lord for 8000 damage he ends up hitting a tank for negligible health. (Or doing a very low 2,000 if he uses FoH)

They should make the holy bolt pass through the friendly characters and up the damage for the holy bolts emited from the FoH (I mean it only hits undead for goodness sake, what are they afraid of?)

Thanks for the offer  but I'm Europe/Non-ladder. I managed the Uber Trist with my Fanatic Zealot. Inexperience made me die once but all went well in the end.
Yes healers should be one of the toughest Non-melee characters in the game. With %90 percent on all resist (Without the aura) plus Fire, Cold and Lightning obsorb he should be able to escape death as long as he can avoide a big physical damage hit. Maybe I will still get a chance to test him out agianst the ubers some day.

p.s. The build for my run is on my "Solo Uber Trist" thread.
