I just found an Ethereal Bonehew (163-848 dmg) w/ 2 sockets. I was wondering......wouldnt this be godly w/ zod + 40 ed / 15 ias jwl? I mean that would take it to like 1300 dmg wouldnt it?

Nope. If you put the ED% jewel in the weapon, it'll just be added to the weapon's existing enhanced damage. I assume your bonehew has around 290% ED? If so, with a 40% ED, that'll take it to 330%, bringing your weapon damage to about 180-933.

The 40 ED from in the jewel would just be applied together with the ED already found on the Bonehew, so the damage won't go up to 1300. If you're planning to use this on a merc, don't bother sticking a Zod in it since items on mercs don't lose durability.

Not exactly. The ed on the jewel gets added into the ed on the weapon (which is 289, is it not?).

With a 40 ed jwel, it would get 180-933 damage. It would reach the... second last breakpoint for ww, I think? Not sure about that. It'd be either second last, or third to last... either way, not fast enough for character use. It's speed would be even more ridiculously slow with any non-ww skill.

It's best use is to put it on a merc. Personally, I'd stick two amn in it... but I love me some life leech.

::Edit:: LOL nice, three replies all at once.

Yea, second last. Even without the 15% IAS from the jewel, it'd still be the second last breakpoint. With the ogre axe, the barb would need to get 59% IAS to reach the final 4fpa, so since the bonehew already has 30%, you would need another 29% directly on the weapon.

I see....All right thanks for the replies guys, I appreciate it.

Look above for statistical replies. My practical advice would be to use it on a merc, but if you can afford a Zod and a 40/15, then nvm.

Druids are fast with big weapons, aren't they? Wouldn't be bad for a wolf.

Actually, Amazon's and Barbarians are faster with sceptors/maces and 1 handed swords than paladins. Additionaly, those two classes are only slightly faster with two handed swords, than the paladin (barely).

The amazon is faster with spears than all other classes. Most of the classes are pretty much the same with crossbows, and the amazon is slightly faster than the barbarian with bows. The amazon is also the fastest with the dagger (10fpa normal attack), with the barb close behind again (11.5fpa).

The sorceress is the fastest with polearms, along with two handed axes and two handed mauls, though the barbarian and amazon are faster with 1 handed axes.

Here are the basic frames per attack (lower number=faster attack) for the different classes with weapon types that have a listed weapon speed of 0 (except for the 2h mauls, as there are no WSM 0 such weapons). Normal Attack, no extra speed from anywhere.

20 Druid
18 Necromancer
16 Paladin, Sorceress
14 Assassin
13 Barbarian

22 Druid in wereform
20 Druid
18 Necromancer
17 Sorceress
16 Act 5 merc (double Attack)
14 Paladin, Assassin
13 Amazon, Barbarian (but amazons have terrible block recovery rate with this setup!)

Javelin, Spear
27 Druid in wereform

19 Paladin
18 Barbarian
15 Amazon

yes, druids can be quite nimble with bonehew, but not fast enuff for my liking, mine was wearing a non-eth double shael'd one for a bit, his ttack was just insanely fast considering what he was using... (i was straight feral so his attack with fully charged feral was extremely fast)

PS- Also with cross bows! (shael'd Buriza was very fast on my wolf)
