Good trade? I'm thinking yes because they were both socketed, please confirm me so that I don't feel bad.

Again, I'm not that well versed in ultra-high-end trades, but neither of the base items the other guy socketed were ideal. The resists on the helm aren't super high and there's only 2 of them. On the shield, it really hurts not to get max block with HS, and the stacked res would have been better if it was anything other than poison. I'll let fred or zodijackyl make a somewhat more informed opinion.

(PS this is on ladder and the stats you mention include the ruby/diamond bonus right?)

I already provided my input in game. The shield is weak, but the socket raises its value to at least an SOJ. The helm is nice, at least an SOJ, probably SOJ+something nice, but probably not 2 SOJs.
Most likely you'll be able to get SOJ+something for each. I recommend trying to trade the shield for a nicer one without a socket, perhaps a +2 30/20 pris bone/tower/grim with a higher pris, and hopefully another mod or two. IMO you should keep the helm and use it, because you're using tarn now, but you should be able to trade it for an SOJ, and probably + another non socketed helm with decent mods.
