Amazing LLD Find.

I was running Hell Andy with my only character, my bonesnapper. She keeps dropping gross rares. When suddenly she drops a pike, not just any pike, a black coloured pike. Naturally I'm not too excited as it's probably a high level requirement pike with skills on it. I yell at Cain to identify it and to my surprise, it turns out to be one of the finest low level weapons I've seen.

94% Enhanced Damage.
+19 Maximum Damage.
+122 Attack Rating
+2 Strength
-30 Requirements
Yes, a 141 damage weapon that is only level 18 requirement with next to no strength/dexterity requirements. Not only that but it has a black colouring which makes it look even more deadly. Quite a nice charger weapon if I do say so myself.

i have quite a LLD pike myself aswell. Well its a lance and it doesnt have -req unfortunately. it does do x-286 damage though and has a lvl 25 req.
Congrats on the nice pike though.

At the moment I'm trying to decide on a set-up to do at level 18 with the pike. I want; Cold Resistance / Attack Rating / Life.

It's no -req, but it is only lvl 19 required. 45 strength, and 60 dex.
Just wondering if it would be good, prob not but whatever.

I think he thought you meant a 286 pike instead of lance.

Sick pike. Only problem with level 19 pikers is no crushing blow (unless you can afford pp gtoes/rcage)
I dont really see how crushing blow is important for chargers. They usually KO their opponent in 3-4 charges anyway so the 1/10 of your opponents life that CB will take away when its triggered wont make much of a difference. If you dont have anything better to wear in the boots slot then go ahead and slap on goblintoe, but boots with nice resists are more useful.
Aznpwned: I dont think thats a very good pike. The 14 max damage is nice, but the 42% enhanced damage is too little for a level 19 req. Try shopping hell charsi and gheed, you will probably find a pike that has a bigger average damage with the same ( or lower) level requirements.

No, no, no.
You never want to use a pike over level 20, after that point you might as well use a bonesnap/steeldriver/lance. Crushing blow isn't important, unless you manage to get 90% Chance of it, as it will rarely hit, you only strike the oponent maybe 2-4 times, with 25% chance it is unlikely any of them will trigger it. Resistance is key, that and life.

make yourself a jab amazon to pwn in LLD duels with it :D
or maybe fend, but fend is bugged
wonder if it can kill a charger, but generally if you manage to run near an anemy and hit him he is dead, because your constant attacks should stop him
maybe your pike + hawkmail + 30% r/w boots + deaths for 30ias? but I think a twitch is better for the faster attack (I hope the pike has "fast attack rate", not slow, because if it is slow, then it's useless for ama :/)
maybe you could use it to level up barbs, this weapon is nice to level up a w/w lance barb

LoL crazy but it can work, i used to have a lvl 9 PvP jab ama in LoD, she used a pike (but that was a 6soc eth that had 280~ damage and she had +8max/15ed jewels X 7 in armor/helm). give a jab ama a try they do work, whack aload of points in dodge and see how it goes, im not saying its gonna work in classic but u've got nothing to loose. the ama i had used a bow on switch with ice dam to slow and lure players into a false sence of securty.

Yo, we already know that jabbers do work. Unforteanetely, they will not work with the pike because you will have no shield :sad2: , and yes, it is not fst enough. I recently made a jabber that is lvl 45, so far it has been getting owned by everyone, but I hope that as its lvl increases, I will see more pwnage.

I mainly need crushing blow on my LLDers because I take on high levels. I've killed dozens of chars around 90 with a level 35, and even a few with my old level 12 charger :)

A certain group which I am a member of (and will no longer be mentioned on these forums) is [in]famous for killing high levels with level 35 chars, and also a few old level 12s using prepatch uniques who killed a level 93 hammerdin on NL.

have I been playing too long ? "Back in 1.10" sounds so far back and yet, I gathered my own pp uniques and that was a wee bit longer back.
Makes me wonder if my first chars are using a walker or cain(not Deckard) to get around.
