View Full Version : Cubing Druid Pelts
I am trying to cube a druid pelt with +2 druid skills and other usefull stats (for a shaman helm) and I know that they can have up to 3 tree skills added (I think that is right). My question is if I need a baal dropped pelt to have the chance to get the best mods? Sorta Like GC and the +skill/45 lifers. Any help would be appreciated.
Also I know this seems wierd but since I have cubed over 500 already with no luck it seems that pelts like antlers and earth spirits cube better mods. This is just my wierd luck right?
Yes, a druid pelt can get up to 3 staffmods.
Without knowing exactly what staffmods you're looking for, my answer's going to be pretty broad.
If the ilvl of the item is too high, you may not get the staffmods you desire (especially if the staffmods are low-level skills). If the ilvl is too low however, you may not get the +2 druid skills that you'll probably want. If you're using a high qlvl item (such as a dream spirit), then it'll have a high ilvl as well.
You might want to find a white dream spirit or something, and then imbue it with a high level character. Imbuing has a higher chance of getting 3 * +3 skills. Even if you don't get what you want, you can re-roll it with the 6 pskull recipe, and the dream spirits qlvl shall always ensure it'll get +2 skills. The character level that you use to re-roll the rare dream spirit shall depend on the +skills you're after. If it's higher end ones, you'll want to use a high level character. If it's lower tier ones, you'll want to use a low level char.
That was the answer I was looking for. I was looking for lvl 24-30 so that was why I was using a baal drop with an elite helm. I totally forgot about the 6 perf skull reroll, grrrr. All those perf skulls I wasted on magic rolling. As for the CHR LVL I will be using a lvl 94 to get first imbue so that way I get a high lvl imbue for the initial pelt.
Thanks for the help

I don't think it will always get +2 skills, but that it is always _possible_ to spawn with 2 skills.

Yea, that's what I meant. Poor choice of wording on my behalf.

Don't worry I understood what you ment.
I'd just like to point out that in order to reroll a magic druid pelt with +2 skills, you'll need to use something with ilvl 90 or higher - baal, diablo, or nihl. Assuming you're using the 3x pgem recipe.
Also, for the rare recipe... assuming you have a rare level 99 (baal) druid pelt, to use this recipe and get something of level 90 or higher... *Does the math*
99 * 0.4 = 39.6, drop the decimal, 39.
You'll need to use a character of high enough level to make up the 90-39, or 51 levels.
51 / 0.4 = 127.5, because of the way the formula works you'll have to round up, so 128.
So! For a rare druid pelt from Baal, you need a level 128 character to recieve a level 90 druid pelt in return. Of course, trying this again will require a character of even higher level to make up for the decrease in ilvl.
On the other hand! There is the high-end recipe for this, pskull + soj + item. With a baal rare helm, you need a level 37 character for the initial craft to get a level 90 helm in return. After that, level 46 or higher will do.
You're thinking of amulets or circlets. For druid pelts, +2 skills only require alvl 50, not alvl 90.
Also, if the item has enough qlvl, the 6pskull rare reroll recipe wont make much of a difference. For example, rare diadems will always have every affix available to them, regardless of the character level that re-rolled it.
In the above case, if the user was to re-roll a Dream Spirit (qlvl85), Sky Spirit(qlvl83) or Earth Spirit (qlvl76), he would always have the chance to get +2 druid skills, even if the person who re-rolled it was only level 10.
The main reason you want to keep an eye on the ilvl in this case is to make sure you can get the staffmods you desire.

Really now? Well, I didn't know that. *Files it away since it will come in handy later, as all D2 information always does* My mistake, then. :D Sorry!
