Unusual SoJ find?

I was leveling in Hell Blood Moor with my Zon, and I just found a SoJ. I showed it to someone, and he told me Act 1 Hell has the best possibility of SoJ dropping. Is this true?

It is totally luck I find. I finally got my first soj on hell andy run , but it wasnt from andy it was from a champion monster. However there were 2 groups of champions in the same room as andy and I picked it up before andy was dead. They just pop out of nowhere :P


edit: and I had maybe 50mf total on at the time (I was leveling my hammerdin).

I've found FOUR goldskins in the blood moor. Also a 151 BH, and some other nice things. Can't explain it, but I can say that you're better off trying to get drops off trav.

Casual leveling. It's a PvP character, so go figure.

I remember having great success after stomping over the encampments of fallens/carvers in hell. Perhaps my memory doesn't serve me as well as I hope, I doubt you should run such useless creatures. Stick to bosses.

Remember that this happened by chance, and I'll gladly take this find over a rare from a boss. By the way, I just picked up another Gull off Hell Rakinishuu, or however you spell it.

i found my first soj in classic from mephi nm.... i thought he couldnt drop a soj. i was well happy :P

I just like to clear chaos sanctuary as I find all the items I need to play a godly char by the time I get around lv 90-91. After this point I usually stop picking up drops in the CS runs unless I am soloing, but I know that CS is one of the best places for drops if you have a duke.lord character.

The past few ladder seasons I've had a very strong paladin able to stay alive safely in the CS (lv 92 s1, lv 94 s2, lv 92 current).

Also an easy way I get better items is to grab armors, staffs, wands, rare higher level items, etc and sell for gold. Gambling at higher levels eventually gets some very godly items. I've gambled maybe only 20-30 million this season, but I did gamble a very godly amulet for amazon ( :undecided: ) :

+16prizm +56 light resists
+23% magic find

NM Mephy can drop an SOJ, but NM Andy can't. Not in classic that is, but she can in LOD.

Didn't know that. I thought nm andy could drop soj. I was extremely fortunate to have another soj drop from MFing nm meph just a few days after I got my first soj dropping from a monster in catacombs lvl 4 on hell. Now that I know that I won't run nm andy any more :)

Here is a true and almost unbelievable story. Me and a friend of mine were in hell game i was doing hell cs and he was mfing on andy and mephi. Well i got a soj from diablo and i was well chuffed as always (got 4 this round all in hell cs not always from diablo) then the very next game my friend got one from hell mephi, what is the probability of that.....
Also the same thing happened with hotspurs 2 games running got hots in hell cs (think that is even more rare than soj not sure though).
It just goes to show if you play enough you will find just about anything.

Yes, but only in the sense that more rings will be dropping, so there are more chances for an soj to be chosen to drop.
