The answer for all of them is ANYWHERE!

For example, I've picked up 3 Gulls off Normal Andy, with 0 MF, while I was questing. Despite that, personally, I like to MF NM Diablo in games where you can't complete the "Kill Diablo" quest. Because of the glitch, he will always give you quest drops as long as you don't beat NM. If you want to upgrade, try Hell Andy runs with an MFer built specifically for that purpose. You can use the Andy bug, which I'll explain at a later time if you're interested.

To find sets, try to get a piece of the set in your inventory.
Such as if you are looking for Iratha, have an Iratha Amulet in your inventory.
It works as far as I know, has for me.

The best way to get gull's is by mfing norm rankishu, at least in my experience

Normal diablo drops the rest farily often

Another good way to get all these items (except for gull) is to buy them from high levels for cash. Creating games with a title like "O 500k cash N R" and "Need shard" in description have worked well for me.

Any of those items will come from NM bosses, but you will have to be very lucky to get a gull. The 2 gulls I've found were from stony field and tristram. Because dagger is in the lowest TC, it hardly ever drops outside the first few areas of Norm Act 1. Running through Act 1 with a fast-killing char with high MF is a good way to go (zrk's suggestion can work too, give that a shot). Running Flayer Jungle with high MF in a multiperson game will also yield a ton of dropped items (lots of LoD players look for runes this way).

Hey, I was just getting my first classic character rushed past Andariel and Gull Dagger dropped!!!! I was sooo psyched! I actually have a good weapon from Normal Andy. Well I'm just so happy I finally have a peice of gear worth wearing.

Actually, the drops do not depend upon what you are holding or what you are wearing, except of course that wearing items with lots of MF affects the quality (nonmagic/socketed, magic, rare, set, or unique) of the drop, but not the amount of items dropped or their type (sword, martel, etc.)

There can be a dependence upon what has already dropped in that game but that is for unique items only. If a unique item has already dropped in that game, then it will not drop in that game. If it is rolled to drop, then a triple durability rare will drop instead. So after you see a Venom Ward drop in a game, expect not to see any more Venom Wards drop (the ones that would have will be triple durability rare breast plates.)

Where I look/find some of these things:

Gull dagger:
Looking for Gulls is different than others- I've gotten a couple from the normal Cow King, a couple from Andy, and a few at other places scattered around Act 1 normal. Never from Rakanishu, and I've killed him many many times with high MF on my way to getting Wirt's Leg. But running around a high player count act 1 game with an MF Tesladin is a decent way of hunting for Gulls and the hard-to-find TC 3 items- Hotspurs, Knell Striker, Torch of Iro, Biggin's Bonnet, etc.

Angelic rings/amulet, Irathra amulet:
I like norm/nightmare Trav runs, horking the corpses as a reasonable strategy. I find pleny of Angelic rings just in general play and not so many set amulets, more from council members than others but not amazingly so. In general, "ghost" type characters drop rings and amulets pretty well, but MFing in the Arcane Sanctuary doesn't work well since if the monsters die when they are floating across empty space, they don't drop anything.

Frostburns, Shard, Irathra's items:
these seem to drop well in NM cows and just in normal play with a decent MF character, and sometimes just questing with no particular MF. I have an MF javazon who has found a fair amount of useful stuff. I think this season I've got two Shards running normal Diablo but that may be anomalous.

I haven't found Magefist this season yet, oh well. My Ladder Season 3 self-found grail is missing about 12 uniques and just the Infernal Torch for set items.
