newbie question about feral rage

I have D2/LOD and am building a werewolf. I have tried to activate Feral Rage, but can see no change. It doesn't say it's passive. When I place it in the right action icon and then right click, my wolf just moves to whatever place I left my cursor. What am I doing wrong?!

You have to use Feral Rage on a monster in order to get it to activate. Assign Feral Rage to the left or right button, go find a monster, then hit it with FR.

the more you hit them, the bigger the ball gets, until you reach max ball size, you get the maximum leech/rw and damage output
