View Full Version : Damage rduced by x% Dimishing returns?
Are there dimishing returns on the "damage reduced byx x%" mod? If say I had damage reduced 100%, would I be invicible? ;)
If so, does anyone know what they are?

Damage reduced by % is not subject to diminishing returns. However, it is capped at 50%. Any more than that won't have any affect.
in previous versions (don't know if it still applies) 100%+ DR= inmune to amp
Each character starts out with 0% physical resistance. Unlike other resistances, this isn't affected by the difficulty level (so you still have 0% naturally on NM and Hell).
Damaged reduced by x% is the same as physical resistance, and as Evrae Altana said, it's capped at 50%.
Amplify Damage and Decrepify lower your physical resistance, by 100% and 50% respectively. Like the elements, you can stack physical resistance above 50% to reduce the effectiveness of these two curses. That said, it's generally not a good idea to aim for anything higher than 50% anyway, because you would probably be sacrificing other gear.
Didn't I hear about some glitched aldur's boots on asia that had something like "+50% max physical resist", and that there's no cap on +max physical resist because no items are supposed to have it, so people with these boots loaded up on physical resist and became immune to it.
It was a long time ago.

That was in 1.09.
Merick: That mod does not exist, because the cap is entirely hardcoded.
