[D2X US East - Ladder] Getting back into it - questions

Hey,

On a whim I decided to start playing D2X again for the first time since 1.09. It appears that tons has changed, and just had a few questions:

1) Are chipped gems still worth anything to trade? I'd like to find a few basic starter/low end items and was wondering if chipped's were still worth anything.

2) Where's a good place to get started with strategy and the like again? I tried to follow a link on the main page but got routed to the general forum.

I apologize if these are the same questions answered all the time, and thanks for the help in advance. Look forward to hopefully getting to play with some of you in the future.

i dont see chippies being traded so i wouldnt worry about em.perfect gems are what people want these days for rerolling charms.there is lots of strategy in the
character forums.go to necromancer,paladin or whatever class you are looking at and they all have a strategy guide near the top.oh and welcome back.

yea, if your just getting started i suggest getting a mfing char and trying to gain wealth through them. there are good guides for mfing builds with necro, pally, and sorc as mentioned above and they can also solo hell even without the elite gear. i've just started a month ago and i'm doing ok...still no elite stuff though. and oh yea, welcome to the forums :)
