So I've got my to-be immozon, who will have backup from multi (cos I've never used multi much, only strafe) to lvl 24 (kuko just 25 mins of baalruns away :xmas17: ). Checked a skill calc and damage seems worse if anything than FA, but with no 1/2 a minute freeze bonus... disappointing but hey I wanted to make something fairly rarely seen on bnet. Now I just found out immolation arrow has a cool down time... ouch, looks like I'll be using multi or something more than I thought... seems like the 'immo' part is going to be about as lethal a killer as a naked magebarb.

Before I dump the char or turn it into a flayer-killing machine instead - seeing as I've only spent about 4 pts so far in the fire tree and killing flayers easily is based more around equip - can someone give me some saving graces of the immozon I've missed out on?

I vaguely remember a 'magezon' guide, never read it but I'm guessing FA/immolation with the +damage per second mod ignored in favour of passives, however I've had 2 LF/FA zons and 1 FA/strafe zon to make it to the 80s, don't really want yet another FA hybrid... If someone could direct me to a decent guide, or if you've made an immozon since 1.10 and can sell it to me yourself I'd be grateful. Afterall, I've only just got immo arrow so...

Oh btw my budget is about 6 ist, and on Eur SCL 4.5 ist = 1 hr, so no faith or anything like that :S

Thanks in advance :xmas24:

The problem with immolation arrow is the long timer. The damage per-shot is about equivalent to freezing arrow with the same equipment wealth, but FA can be fired a lot faster. If you want to go with elemental arrows, use FA. If you insist on using the fire tree, it "can" be done. You'll probably want a holy freeze merc to keep stuff standing in the flames, high % pierce to multiply the damage, and a good physical skill to spam while waiting for the timer to reset (do NOT use knockback here!). And even with all that, you'll need to take it slow and play carefully.

I'm currently using a PvM Immozon right now. To be honest with you, the Cool down time really isn't that bad. Sure, it probably isn't as effective as rapidly firing Freezing Arrows, but it still works just fine.

Thx for the input:

If I made one in 1.08 or classic would that change anything? Would I be able to manage untwinked (and have fun i.e. not take 2 hours to do hell ancients)?

Try 1.06, when immunes didn't exist

Ignore the timer by spamming other arrows. Explosive or low level Freezing arrows while waiting.
