So I was readin the Skellimancer guide..and I couldn't help but notice how it kept saying that Amplify Damage was the only curse I'd ever really need. Why doesn't it say Decrepify? Decrepify lowers dmg + defense by 50%, as well as applying amplify damage. or am i wrong here?

Decrepify is a great curse but it only lowers a monsters physical resistance byy 50% and amp reduces it by 100%. Decrepify is great for bosses though.

Amp is really the only curse you need tho but its nice to have other curses .

Decrep still a curse i get on my summoners

Amplify Damage lowers monster Physical Resistances by 100% while Decrepify reduces target's speed, damage and Physical Resistance by 50%.
You can break Physical immunity of monsters with Amplify damage (there are exception to this - stone skinned phys immunes) and it'll be a much better help to the corpse explosion you're probably going to use.

i see i see.. thx alot, that really cleared things up. so what are you suggestions? Decrepify or Amplify? I'm only gonna put in 1 skillpoint into either of these curses since all I will have +skills and it only adds duration/radius

The following is for my Skelemancers; I had a bonemancer as well, but the ladder reset came too early to really polish my playing style here (played Skelemancers for two ladders...).

I've used Amplify Damage everywhere, except vs. Act bosses (usually). Baal in particular is very vulnerable to Decrepify, since the combination of Decrepify, Gumby and cold chilling (from the mages) shuts down most of his activity. Diablo is also fun to watch under these conditions. Mephisto I usually decrepified as well. Duriel I usually decrepified until everything was secured, then I switched him to amp damage. Similar for Andariel.

I used Decrepify vs. diablo clone as well; never got to the 1.11 ubers (IIRC I had one key when the reset came...) so I don't have experience with them.

So, basically, Amp Damage was my main curse. I used Decrepify occasionally, and Lower Resist when appropiate. I never used any of the other curses, although I was considering adding some of my leftover points into the AI curses to see if they are useful.

I hate it when necro don't get dim vision. Even if you don't get murdered by black souls, your team mates will.

Do not forget about the radius of each curse.
At level 20, Amplify Damage has a radius of 14.6 yards, while Decrepify has 4 yards.
I tend to use Decrepify on bosses, so the radius of it works. When my screen is full of bad guys, I turn to Amplify Damage.

If you are going to get a rune word for your skelliemancer get Enigma, it is better than all the others by far. When you teleport your skellies go with you. Everything ends up in a big stack and they will all attack the same target at the same time, it is truely awesome.

I never went for dupewords, so my Skelemancer always had standard gear: Full trangs, a +3 summoning amulet with some useful 2nd mod (MF, but I would have accepted teleport charges as well), rings with +mana and MF, +2 Marrowwalks, Gull dagger and AoKL on switch (TO shield in both slots). The trick for dclone is simple: use revives with crushing blow, then leave, raise new skellies and finish him off. The mages have poison duration in excess of 500 seconds, which is enough time to get an army without hm healing a single point.

My merc had similar standard gear: first ladder I had an ethreal +2 arkaine, but 2nd ladder I didn't even get a +1 arkaine --- I used Naj's plate, +4 ariocs needle and a RALed Andariels visage.

The idea was to make a Skelemancer that could handle everything easily, doesn't die (death toll in 2nd season was 0), and doesn't need gear that I don't want or can't get.

Basic idea.
Decrep=bosses
amp=everywhere else
