Griz Set is it any good?

Has anyone out there used the Griz Set?

Is it any good?

Which does it work well with? Zealer or Smiter.

Any that it doesn't work with? hammerdin.

Personally i feel that Grizwolds is best used for a PvP Foh pally. Fill it with lightning facets and you can make a Foher with good resists, decent defense, good damage and - resists and all with the stylish look of grizwolds set. Can get expensive however...

indeed it is expensive, especially if you are set on using perfect facets. I have met at least one other pally with this setup and he had all 5/-5 facets. Myself i have a griz set with mostly 4/-5 or 5/-4 s. The trouble you will run into with grizwolds set with any setup is that socettables can get expensive. While there are some inexpensive runes that can be effective, it is difficult to make this set effective especially in pvp without spending quite a bit of money on runes/jewels. Even with expensive runes, its effectiveness in pvp with a melee setup is questionable. With the superior gear that smiters/zealots have access to nowadays, griz is tough to compete with in pvp. With cheaper sockets, this set may prove an iteresting challenge in pvm in hell. Perhaps Shael runes in the weapon, resist runes in the armor, ums or diamonds in the shield and rubys in the helm ? not too sure to be honest ( the only melee griz pally i had was in 1.09 and used 40/15 max jewels in everything, and hacks out the ). A better description of where and how you wish to play with this pally may help others provide better setups.

Griz set is not really meant for casters, it lacks fcr... But for meleers it is not bad at all.
First of all a fanatic zealot can equip the full set and use gore riders for the cb and dracul's for life tap,the caddy needs no extra ias for max zeal/smite. He'll need couple of ber in the weapon though together with Lo or Ohm or 40% ed jewels. Elemental zealots can take advantage of the set very well and avengers the same.

I wouldn't use it in melee duels. You'll need a 15% dr verdungo and 4xber to get high damage reduction,expensive runes in weapon for damage(if meant for a zealot) and still your defense will be low. Not a much for grief users,be them zealots or smiters.

Lets see, on east scl the approximate cost of just the eq on a facet foher would be about
3xist for 2xsoj/bk
4xist+pul-ist for the caddy
3xist for the armor
3xist+um for the shield
2xist+um for helm
16ist+2um average
about 11 hrs About what it'll cost to make a good smiter and a good smiter will put this build in it's place every time.
