View Full Version : Whats with ww the act 2 minoins in baal?
I was told , rather vaguely, not to whilrwind the act 2 minions in baals -why not - Does this apply to all act 2 or just in baals?
Although I've never heard this rumor, it's false anyway. It doesn't even make sense. There's no reason not to use whirlwind during the second wave of baal's minions, and people use whirlwind during Act 2 all the time.
Maybe the person who told you that said it because he didn't want you right next to the drops, incase something good dropped or something....

You probably don't want to WW them if your poison resist is crap...... More like, you don't want to be near them at all.

I had an IK barb in the last season and he WWed all of the Baal minions with no problems, except the boss was PI and and had mana burn at the same time. He got poisoned massively by the defilers, of course, but as long as he leeched, it was irrelevant. When all but the skeletons were dead, he gulped an antidote potion or TPed to Malah to get healed or simply out-tanked the poison, and continued. Of course, I used a different technique versus OKs and dolls ;)

I have one more question related to the second wave. It is my impression that this wave is somewhat "controversial". On baalruns you meet all sorts of strange beliefs associated with it.
At times sorcs are told not to use meteor or there will be no experience gain or a flawed one.
At times someone is asked to unparty because when dealing with them in a full party there is either no experience gain or experience for the 8people party is smaller.
And so on and so on - these are the only two that come to mint at this moment. Is any of this true as of 1.11b?? I believe there was some kind of bug about the 2wave's experience in one of the earlier patches but I am quite sure it was either never true or has long been fixed now.

Yes, the most effective way of doing Battle Command is to be outside the actual battle, so you can concentrate on what's going on to devise a successful strategy. Very smart thinking for a barbarian, if I may add that. Requires intelligence beyond that of a common mouse.
Of couse, my necros did this all day long. They never felt like mingling with the common footsoldier, although they always took control of the artillery to ensure maximum effectiveness. Stupid assassins using traps for that --- I've never met a trap that had any understanding of the big picture. But then, women in battle...
