For those of you that don't know I have chosen to embark on a septavirate quest inspired by Butzull (http://www.dangreen.name/septavirate.html). My septavirate will be slightly different than Butzull's. I am planing to do three different septavirates. One will be SC unusual builds, one will be SC Set builds (using expansion set designed for that character), and the third will be HC. The difference is I will be twinking most of the characters. HC<SC cuz I don't have much HC equipment.

I have pretty good ideas for some of these build but others are somewhat lacking. You can see some of my ideas and suggestions here (http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=409916). Feel free to make more suggestions since I am not set in stone on many of these ideas.

My only real strict rule will be that once I start one of the three septavirates I mush finish that septavirate before starting the next. Other than that I was just looking to try out some new (for me) builds and remake some characters that I have delete/poorly built.

Played normal and nm on p8 and hell on p1. Despite the fact that this is a fairly safe character I still died ~10 times (lost count. I think my aggressive playstyle should be intersting once i get to HC). Most deaths were to some nasty nasty boss packs. let me give you some examples:

1st death: Act I Hell: Dark Wood:
2 unique quill rat packs
1 was cursed, stone skin, aura=holy freeze
1 was lite enchanted, stone skin, aura-holy shock

2nd Death: Act II Hell: Palace Cellar lvl3:
3 nasty packs
1 was Fire Eye (FE+EF)
1 was Champion/Ghostly lite Skelie archers
1 was Unique Blunderbore EF, cursed, aura=fanta

3rd Death: Act II Hell: Arcane Sanctuary:
3 mobs (lept the wrong direction)
1 EF+ES Specter
1 LE+Fanta Ghoul Lord
1 ES+LE+Might Ghoul lord

4th: ACT III: Lower Kurast:
2 unique doom ape packs
1 w/ fanta
1 w/might
these guys were so nasty I couldn't even get their other mods. While trying to get my body I found champion itchies and champ thorned hulks. Needless to say I had to S&E to get my body.

After that I lost count. I think I only died once in act IV and that was to Infector of Souls. Act V was by far the hardest. This character doesnt really like wide open places. I found that the start of act III is the perfect terrain for this character (funny cuz act III is my leat favorite act). Ancient's were actually easy compared to the rest of act V. Didn't even really see their mods. speperated them a little. Merc killed mawdac while i kept the otehr two busy. after that I took the leaper (easier to dodge) and the merc took the whirler. Whole battle took less than 2 minutes. Baal's minions apart for Lister went down easily. Lister and Co were taken 1by1. Baal was no problem and dropped crap.

Best/Inetersting finds:
this guy seemed like an ethereal magnet
eth Patriarch
eth Valk Wing
eth Soul Drainer's
2x shadow killer

other than that to only notable finds were:
a StormShield (from Eyeback)
Lem rune (nm forge)
Pul rune (hell forge)


Next project will be another SC unusual build. No sure with one. I guess I can go with group consensus. Ya'll pick a character class and the first class with 3 votes will be my next project. Remember that barbarians are out.

yeah i couldnt really think of anything else. you like druids right. you have any suggestions? there's a interesting guide in the druid forum called the disaster master i believe but Uzziah's Dual elemental guide seemed much better.

Should i go with the Fire/wind hybrid for the unusual and the fire summoner for the HC?

An unusual dr00d build? Max the following skills: Rabies, Carrion Vine, Lycantrophy, Feral Rage, Oak Sage, and remaining points in Werewolf. Bite with the Rabies, sit right in middle of the monsters, if you feel like it, and leech back all your life all the time with the big level Feral Rage.

You'll only have problems with non-leechables. And maybe with them annoying archers in Hell.

there's a interesting guide in the druid forum called the disaster master i believe but Uzziah's Dual elemental guide seemed much better.I'm pretty sure that Uzziah's guide depended on the synergy bug which has been fixed in 1.11/1.11b.

I'm afraid I can't be of much help with a build though, since I've never made it past Act II norm with a druid.

Nah, _they_ just play the usual Windys, Furywolves and stuff :) and you were asking for unusual builds.

Windys are fun :) Mostly for us laggy people who when they join MP games you feel somewhat safe :P

Congrats on interesting pat.
Uzziah dual elemental druid should be nice. Also I have played a fireclaw druid, I don't see that build much often and it's a lot of fun doing 9K fire damage at 4fpa.
For sorceress, Charged Boltress seems interesting. (EDIT: Make her with 200% FCR - just for being more unusual)
For paladin, what about sacrifice build? I didn't see a single person patting paladin using sacrifice...
Amazon - Charged strike and not using LF. With Thunderstroke and lot of IAS, it's fun.
Necro - Usamahamancer? (requires bramble...)

i've alread built one fireclaws bear, so i was leaning more towards the dual elemental. besides i am going with fireclaws/rabies for the Aldurs druid.

for the sorc i really want to melee. orginally i wanted a dual dream enchantress but since i dont have two jahs i am settling for kingslayer+masteries. i was thinking about not using enchant but i will prolly need the AR.

Martyr- now thats unusual and tough. i might just have to try that.

CS is a nice skill but that just sounds like a lite-zon who doesnt use her best skill

I believe Cattelya is correct - Uzziah's dual elemental druid build depends upon th2 marrowalk bug that has been corrected in 1.11 - thus, the underlying logic of the skill investments and equipment is no longer applicable.

Some suggestions for builds:

For Amazon, consider a Magic Arrow Bowazon. I have brought mine into Act 3 Hell untwinked! The MA damage is greater than the display says it is -the damage calculation is bugged. The build is a lot of fun.

For a melee sorc, consider doing something with the cold armor skills.

For a necro, consider a Lord of Mages.

For a druid, I agree with the idea of a rabies based sorc. I played one in the Name My Poison tournament and it was fun.

For an assassin, I might suggest a fire bomber. I've tried a bomber build with a Shadow Warrior and lots of +Trap skills, hoping that the Shadow Warrior would throw super potent fire bombs due to the fire bomb synergies. It hasn't worked out as well as I had hoped -the Warrior resorts to melee too often. But its an interesting build.

That was funny !

(Although the unusual part is only the gear, +14 Skills to get killing speed. Mine wouldn't work in 1.11 - no Synergies)


I like the Rabies build for a Druid suggestion !

Gogo Lord of Mages for Necro (with Bone Prison would be more interesting than with just all skellies I think)

I am too lousy an Assassin player to suggest something unusual. The only unusual build I made (and that was killer-fun in 1.09) was a Blender with blade shield. They don't work anymore (*cries*)


Any possible way to build a Melee-zon ? I have to study that one myself....
