Well, I'm not really a newcomer in these forums, but I haven't been around for a year, and haven't really been heavily active in these forums for about a year and three months. Geez. I'm ready to get back into D2, but my CD is NOT working.
I can't install the expansion, it keeps on asking me to 'insert play disc' or if I do the d2xmusic.mpq fix that Blizzard troubleshooting suggests, it asks me to 'insert expansion disc' while it's still in the disk drive. In any case, I'll probably try half-assed to get back on asap, and maybe meet some old friends, USWest. If anyone has bypassed this problem before, any help would be appreciated.
That said, I have no idea what kind of changes D2 went through in the past year or so. If anyone could be bothered to tell me what this new 'uber quest'(?) thing is, and why everyone is selling 'torches', that would be greatly appreciated. The process of doing this quest would also be appreciated.
I'd really hate to start from scratch after doing a mega-drop game a year ago, giving away several enigmas, several nightwings, several perf facets and a botd, among myriads of other things that, at that time, were tippidy top. But if all the old veterans of this forums still remember me, any help will be appreciated once I get back up.
