View Full Version : Choosing the best wp

As a wise old Crusader once told Indy, "You must choose, but choose wisely..."

He was talking about the Holy Grail, but I'm talking about weapons.

I'm having a hard time choosing the best weapon for my chars. Sometimes, it's easy. Sorcs and Assassins - especially the latter - have the choice already made for them.

But Druids and Barbarians don't. When I had 1.07, I painstakingly wrote down all the appropriate weapon speeds. But I've discovered that 1.11 has changed some. Now, I don't know what's what.

I'm at that point in the game where I need to focus on a single weapon and make it start working for me and learning it's ins and outs when fighting.

Since there's no general area to ask this, I figured my wp question would best fit in the n00b posting.

Where can I find 1.11 wp spd data? Not for uniques or sets - I don't have those yet. I just need data for vanillas.

Thanks!

Base weapon speed data for uniques, set, AND base items are there, among with light/heavy armor, defense range, etc. so that you can decide what to put your runewords in.

As for the IAS breakpoints, you have to search the forums a bit.

Or if we go a little deeper, this is where you would end up;

Maybe I've been awake too long today, but huh? What you said makes no sense. IAS breakpoints? And what does my armor have to do with my wp spds - er, except for the occasional piece that increases my attack spd?

Oh, the main reason why people care about speed is because of runeword making, so I guess that's the thing you are worried about. The armor business has nothing to do with IAS, but rather run/walk, if you decide to make runewords. So ya, the armor thing is a bit of a side track.

As we all know (or maybe not), Diablo 2 is run in 25 frames per second (computer cannot handle the concept of continuity), so every action is measured in number of frames. A breakpoint is a number that if you pass it, it will makes some particular action 1 frame faster. Someone else can probably explain it much more clearly than I can.
