Okay. So I was questing with my blizzsorc in Hell with a friend and I (without knowing) took the Halls of Pain portal AND killed Nihalatak.
Result: Pindle portal doesnt open.
This char was a pindle runner. Is there anyway to "delete" a waypoint?
Oh my god. :( I dont want to make the char again :\

If you use atma, you could restore one of the previous backups, but be sure to delete any items you've found since that backup.

you can kill ninalahk thing what's his mane but you have accidentally enable hall of pain waypoint
Actually, no. You cannot delete the waypoint. As suggested you could get the backup file but I don't think that would be a good solution. Best is make a new char, you could ask others to rush/baal you, which means she'll be up in no time :D

Well, you could always run the Ancient Tunnels.

Actually I did go for the ATMA backups. Somehow I dont feel like remaking the most boring char ever. Stupid blizzsorc.
I deleted every single item other than my regular gear on her. Luckily I hadnt put anything on my regular stashes or I'd have to delete them as well.
So ... case settled. Went back to Act IV but with some help from my friend I'm already in Act V second quest. A little closer to Mat.ness.
Thanks for the helpful tips though (from some of you at least XD)

I'm not sure but I think that would be considered cheating.

@ nightburst i think not. i have done it sometimes when i just screw things up. sell my only gheeds, and so on.
I would agree with nightburst here. ATMA is for muling only, any other side affects are abuse and cheating. And yes I know what a flamewar the word cheating usually creates but the truth is the truth.

Screw ups happen, they're gaurenteed sooner or later. Restoring backups for reasons other then corrupted character files is pushing the lameness, but if I'm not mistaken I've read that it's recognized as cheating.
Anyways, it wasn't worth doing IMO, getting a new MFer to Pindle's Garden via multiplayer is easy enough. I would've started anew, but then again I start builds over simply because I'm not content with a name.

I really dont have all that time to play and I lag alot in Multiplayer games. I dont understand why recurring to backups is cheating really.
Atma makes them for some reason I guess. And if I didnt use it for any exploit reasons why would I be cheating? If I didnt take any of the items/XP in the run I made since I deleted the char and I hadnt muled anything onto my stashes.
I really dont get it. But thats just me. I guess people sometimes get a bit too purist. If this carries on I have to drop out from MFL II. And I probably will since this is a touchy subject.
I know lots of people make backups in case of screw ups like these.
Well if thats your opinion I can't change it but honestly I think it's exxagerated. If I actually took some advantage from the backup.. but I didnt!
[insert manditory do what you want on your own computer disclaimer here so that no one gets their feelings hurt even though its obvious we are talking about what is acceptable for legit participation in this community]
ATMA makes backups for the reason that its possible ATMA might screw up and corrupt your character. this way you can restore what ATMA did, not what you did.
Where is the line? Recovering waypoints you didn't mean to take? Skill points you didn't mean to assign? Skill points you did mean to assign but changed your mind later? HC deaths? Poor runeword stats? To create another copy of a hard to find item because you actually found one but then the game crashed before you could save and exit?
If you can't do it in the game, you can't do it. I don't see whats so purist about that. Does it suck when you screw up? Sure. Sometimes things suck. Don't screw up. Be careful.

I was mping with a friend and I said to him "'kay now lets not kill nihatalak."
And he went off and killed her anyway. I didnt even remember till later.
I made this char for MFL II ... which is tomorrow. I dont have time to make anotehr blizzsorcer. I'm not even in the mood to make another char who cant go past hell alone ( well it can but not without parking 1/4 of the mobs ) .
So you see my point here? Would you lose another 10+ hours of your life making the same char with the exact same skill distribution.
And I'm sorry but I think those other examples you gave are way different. When I screw up a skill either I start the char over or just keep playing if its not too bad.
Apparently I have to drop from MFL II as I dont want to play with a char that some people think that had some kind of benefit from some kind of cheat even though I made sure that it had no benefit at all.
Shouldnt RWM be considered cheating by you as well then? Its making use of a game in undue way. You shouldnt have b.net runewords in singleplayer. Yet some of those that call me a cheater are RWM. How ironic.

i dont mean that i have done it just because i lost my gheeds. i mean if i **** up, i can only blame myself because i get -exp...something like that...i have accidentaly corrupted atma save files, and thereby used backup-files.
ah hell. i dont know what i mean. im too tired. but i dont cheat.
It probably sounds cold, but thats one of the risks of MPing. Like lag and someone else bogarting the drops and leaving.
And of course I wouldn't rather spend all that time remaking a char. I'd rather have 10 zods than zero too.
So when you screw anything else up you live with it. Why is this an exception?
And of course RWM isn't cheating. The game was made with the ability to be modded. A mod just makes it a different game, thats why traders have to say what mods they use.

ATMA was made with the ability to have backups too.
I didnt dupe anything, I didnt use anything to my benefit.
ATMA can corrupt your things. Big deal. Screwups happen. Your entire diablo folder could get corrupted in the disk and you couldnt play it. After 4 years of playing you lose your whole grail. Or if you found a Tyrael in a stash, kept a backup just in case and then accidentally get it deleted. Now you cant use the backup because thats iffy.
People SHOULD keep backups of their stuff because screw ups happen. If I have a program that does that for me even better. I understand where you are coming from, I just dont agree.
The difference is, you aren't playing a game of atma, you're playing a game of diablo. Corrupted/deleted files are not the same kind of screw up as doing something in the game you would have rather not done. I agree that its great that atma makes backups to protect against corrupted/deleted files because those aren't part of the game. I keep backups of my chars and stashes (and a lot of non-diablo things) on an external drive in case of that.
And imo you did benefit. You got your portal back. Why else would you have used the backup?
I got to agree with this being cheating. I really cant see how this is not considered cheating, or using an exploit. I mean i can see why you would want to do it and take the easy way. I dont see a difference than using atma or something else to revive hc chars. Either way you can do what you want.

I'm not playing HC because I know I'd screw up and get pissed off. Thats the difference. This was a stupid screw up from a FRIEND. Why should I be harmed by his mistake?
As you said MPing has its risks. Like someone thinking its fun to lure a huge pack
of Gloams or whatever and making you die when you play Hardcore. I bet you'll laugh after. Screw ups happen indeed. Why cant we fix them if we have the ability? I really dont agree as some of the people in this thread.
But okay then. Since it is such a big deal to you I'll delete it.
I just skip MFL II. Its not that big of a deal. it happens once in a YEAR.
I'm sure with this kind of purist I'll be here next year oh yeah.

You can still run Ancient Tunnels or Baal. At least don't delete the character...
EDIT: Or you did already remake her and have no original save file?
BaneAtvar

I already did. I kept the items I didnt find with her though. Some of them were rather valuable.
Its no big deal really. My friend said he'd help me make the blizzy as he was sort of responsible for all this. So yeah ... maybe next week or so I'll have it Mat'd.
I already created her :D Re_Christie XD
Actually, you can ask some of the MP-Folks to help out. I'm sure they'll be glad to do so. With uber enchant and tele-baal, you'll be pindling in no time.
