Due to the large number of requests for price checks recently, I've decided to make a thread to offer my assistance to everyone.

I know prices very well on East SC L/NL and Europe HCCL, and I'll be able to help with pretty much everything but the elites on other realms, since uniques tend to have similar values.

To request a price check, just list all mods, defense/damage, durability, level/stat req, color, socket (if applicable), realm, sc/hc, and ladder or NL. Name is optional

That amulet is a prepatch legit that expired a while ago with one of my friends. Was worth hundreds of SOJs.
Also, the main point of this thread was for price checks on rares. Uniques generally have the same value on each realm, but there isn't much of a low currency.

The mage plate is pretty much useless, low life, no resists, no stats, and really has no practical use.

The rest of the uniques are low uniques, and they really don't have much of a set price. If someone needs them, they might pay something nice, but angelics, frosties, gtoes, and manalds have pretty much no value to most people. Gull has some value, and can probably get you silks or gskin.

Just to clarify, I mainly intended that people who asked for a price check on uniques would know which ones have any value. Goldskin, Silks, Gull, Hotspur, Blinkbats, high Tarnhelm, high Chance Guards, and maybe a few more are pretty much the only ones with any value. And of course, SOJ. P Nagels, Manalds, Hawkmail, Magefist, Frostburn, Nokozan, and a few more are low value that most players don't even consider pricing for when planning a char. For most of these lower uniques, you're lucky to get much of anything for them. The ones that people commonly use, mainly hawk/mfist/frosties, you'll be able to get a few pskulls for.

I just want to take a guess.
I say it's worth 3 sojs.
+1 Soj for the Socket
+1 Soj for the +2 priz
+1 soj for the stacked and half-freeze

That shield is worth a bit less than 2 SOJs. The FHR and rep are nice, and the bit of added FR is also, but with no +block it has base blocking of 35%. Even with maxed holy shield and +8 from items (2ammy 2wep 2shield 2sojs) it would only have 72 block, but realistically, a level 90 hammerdin with +2shield and +2ammy and no points wasted would only add 34block, making it 69block max. To have 75block while walking (not running) you would need level 60 holy shield. Although some shields are fine w/o +block (bone, grim, tower), this one is somewhat weak without it. You might be able to get 2 SOJs for it because it's +2, pris, and socketed, but it has a crucial shortcoming. Add 15/10 to it and it would be stronger, add 30/20 and it would probably be 3 SOJs, but with the weaker block and no insane mods to make up for it, it's 2 SOJs max.
The bone shield isn't an SOJ because of the weaker pris, and people who pay SOJ for a shield want outstanding mods. As much as I like strength on shields, the lower pris and the stacked being LR hurts the value. FR is wanted for CS, CR for duels, and LR is much less saught after for duels.

The value on godly legits like this is how much a person is willing to offer, but values can be predicted. Although there are plenty of +2 30/20 20pris green bone shields out there, items like this are truly one-of-a-kind, and there's no chance for something like this to ever drop again. The 48MF with three prefixes is odd, as I thought 48MF was a combo of prefix/suffix, but with such a unique, godly, and useful item, it's easy to fetch hundreds of SOJs in value.

While my friend still had that amulet, he had many offers totaling hundreds of SOJs on it. You obviously have no experience dealing with prepatch legits.
The exec I've been offered ten SOJs for, had items worth about 15 offered, and had a handful of people value it at 15 or so.

Also, all of your posts are incoherent whining and really add nothing to discussions. Try to at least spell simple words correctly.

As stated in the OP, both items are NL. NL SOJs are worth much less than ladder ones.

Also, CoF clan aren't very reputable. A clan with 50 or so people who can't even use the same tag on all their chars. I'm probably banned from op cof for PKing their CS runs after they talk **** to me. Dying 7v1 (yes they made an 8 person game for CS runs) with BO and juvs is just sad.

I know pretty much everyone in CoF, and I'm friends with a few of them, but overall CoF is a ****ty clan. Not that most people don't use juvs, but with BO+Juvs 7v1 they should at least be able to stay alive.

Anyone can CS, and there are plenty of clans who have good CS runs. CoF have some pretty terrible people who can't CS at all, and although a few of them are good, they're no different than any other clan.

50MF tarn is perfect, it can fetch you a decent legit, or for value in a lesser currency, probably worth Silks to Gskin
17FHR 17STR 28LR 17FR belt needs life, not worth much, maybe twitch or a lesser unique.
Perfect nagels are rarely useful to experiences players, but newer players tend to like them, and they can fetch a lower unique, twitch, shard, etc.
40MF chancies are perfect, worth about the same as a perfect tarn, and both of them can also fetch a more valuable nice rare is someone is desparate for them.
30/20 20pris 28CR -20 tower is very nice, perfect pris, and -req on a tower is important. Worth Gskin+, maybe an SOJ if you're lucky.
30/20 18pris dragon shield is useless to most chars due to the high str req, but can be used on barbs in CS. Worth Silks or so.
Hotspur are often worth quite a bit, but people will also trade them cheap many times. They'll probably be able to fetch a goldskin, but I'm perfect on west prices.
Iron Jang Bong is useless. Sell it to Akara and gamble the gold.

you can buy better shields than that from shop in act 2 nightmare from lv 40 onwards. 30/20 20 prisma bone, i got 2 of these whilst checking for +2 pala scepters (takes a while be patient)

umm, the ornate is pretty bad, not enuf life and too high requirements. THe shield is pretty funny since it is magic, but i do not think it is great.

Not much, but maybe a low value item to someone who needs it. Hang on to it. I've traded a 244 lance for a 238 axe :) Some people are just dumb.

Cold damage tends to negate the value of durability. The low AR also weakens it, and 300 isn't very good damage.

Take a look at the Classic Ladder price guide thread (http://forums.diabloii.net/showthread.php?t=378794) which has some overall guides for the value of standard uniques and set items. Opinions may vary but I think people would agree that Shard, Frosties and Twitch are a notch or two better than Goblin Toes in trade value. The terminolgy used in that thread puts Shard, Frosties and Twitch in the "Gold Tier" and Goblin Toes in the "Silver Tier."

Doubt you could get an SOJ for gulls on ladder. They're too valuable to let go for something that has no practical use (two gulls max, 20 gulls would be useless and too much to trade)

No life on the helm hurts the value. Not an SOJ, but much more than frosties. I've found 5+ pairs of frosties in one CS set more than once this season (I've given away most to friends, but they're not that valuable), and any helm with 24 cr/lr/fr is useful. Maybe an SOJ to the right person, but if it had 40life it would be worth 3+
Try to trade it for something worth an SOJ, because these are much easier to get than SOJs.

The belt might be of use to someone, but won't be worth much more than a simple mid unique. The boots are decent, but the weak LR and <30 cr fr will hurt their value. Still worth a weaker rare or a mid unique. If that armor is red and low str req, you'll be able to get something nice for it, worth around goldskin probably. The amu is basic, but it has value, probably silks or gull value to the right person, or maybe a decent amu for another class.

yeah dude... sorry to say this but that ammy is pretty worthless. No pris, and the only resistance on it is poison which is pretty useless. FCR on ammies isn't that hard to find, and although the life and mana are nice, the ammy overall is still kind of bad. Another reason why it less value is because it's a necro ammy, and not many people use necros. So value go down.

Dont think needs to be glass cannon to get 13k hammers

you can get 13k hammers with +2 all +3 hammers scepter, +2 amulet and +2 shield and +1 from battle command if properly built you can have stacked resists and 30% fc which clears hell cs 8ppl solo in under 2 mins (from tp on d's pentagon)

as for the worth of such a scepter +2 +3 +3 scepter the +3 conc although nice is not that important, and a +2 +3bh wouldnt take that long to find shopping, but i would pay something like a silks/gull/gs (possibily even 2 of those) for one with those stats.

One more thing- if you see something that you want but don't quite have the gold for it, that can be aggravating. You can solve this problem by one of several methods:


Go to another act and harvest gold there. If you take a wp to another act and then come back directly to town, the items will not be reset.
Whisper a friend to join the game and lend you some money.
If there is someone else in town, ask them to remain there while you join with one of your characters with more money.

This basically has no value, because it has low def (under 870), weak mods for a 170str orn (should have a high stat or high life, and 2 res). 4/3 dual stat is weak, and 31life is pretty low. It's not hard to find an orn like this.

-Certain items are only desirable by a very small sect of people, and most people will dismiss an items others will pay greatly for

-Lower valued items often get thrown around cheap by wealthy players, so while one person could never dream of having silks, another will sell them for a million gold to gamble

Where were you shopping? If you were shopping in Act 1 then going to Cold Plains would reset the Act 1 vendors. To keep the vendor from resetting, take a WP to a different act and harvest gold there. Try it out to see what I am suggesting. For example, if you are shopping at Drognan, take the A2 town WP to Trav, get some gold/sellable items, then take the Trav WP directly back to A2 town and the vendor's items should be the same. Vendor's items seem to reset when you are "in the wilderness" in that act, whether from a TP or WP or just walking out of town. So it is important to go directly to another act and come direcltly back to town.

Not sure if its east or west NL/ladder. You might get something more valuable for someone who actually has that high of a str, but I really don't see you getting anything outstanding. I've come across a few 850 def ornates with mods very much like that and unless they have a -req to them, people don't seem to want them. The best I've gotten from armors like that are mid-level uniques, such as a shard. However, that's on west ladder, home of the "I can get 2 gulls + ___ for a gskin" players...

It's possible, but I don't understand why people use ornates on smiters. Because max HS lets you get the def?

PvP, anything using angelics will hit you, and some not using angelics. Also, any thing non-physical will kick your arse if you have weak resists.
PvM, anything will kick your arse if you have weak resists.

With good gear you can make a defense smiter with about 17k defense (using defiance as opposed to fantasicm)

It will compete vs some barbs, but ultimately be a waste of time

Remember to get at least 50 fhr to stand a chance, 86 ideally

hey, I saw you trading that on East ladder. That's pretty nice shield, only problem is low pris, but the stack fire is nice. Probably a soj or nice rare.

I would agree that shield is a flat SOJ, and it's an item that you will get an SOJ for, but it is unlikely that one with such mods will get someone to add trade bait or incentives. The color (purple or green) could change the value somewhat, but I'm not sure which color people pay more for now. Orange din shields have been getting nice pricetags though.
As with most things, you might be able to get some more if you trade it for a rare rather than an SOJ, but this requires a huge amount of trading, and I've found that I'm better off just taking the SOJ or something I need and MFing or CSing the rest of my time :)

Unfortunately, without 20 fcr I doubt anyone will give much of anything with it. Also, 18 cr is kinda low considering wands can have up to 40 on two resists (while still being +2 nec).

I would imagine soj or very close to it. The strength boost is great for base strength sorcs, pris, mf, and +1. If it was +2 it would probably be worth 2-3+ sojs

+1 sorc ammies can very easily go for soj's. Get stacks and fcr involved and it is easy, new players dont realize the value in a godly +1 ammy's and thus discount it as soon as they see the +1.
+2 ammies with priz/nice mods are 3+ stones in a lot of cases. Soj's arent worth THAT much

I personally would sell it. Amulets generally need priz, or atleast 30+ on two resists, IMO anyway. I guess it could be used in very specific circumstances, such as svb or svhdin. But I seriously doubt that anyone would trade anything for it.

+2 magic ammy's are worth nothing. If your not bothered about a priz then you should be able to get an ideal +2 necro ammy for your purposes. Necro's aren't as popular so people unload there gear for less. If you get a +2 life energy mana and rep. Both parties get a fair trade off

These mods would be 2+ with the socket alone, but the perfect def would be greatly desirable to some on ladder, and the perfect CR and FHR make it an ideal PvP mage. I would value this at 3 SOJs minimum, and if you find someone who really loves it, you would be able to ask quite a bit more if they're rich enough. Don't try to get pure SOJs for this though, try to get items. I'm confident that if you look around enough you'll be able to get 4-5 SOJs in items for this off the right person.
NL, it would be worth very little. All the NL hdins love their dcaras, and there's no respect for legit armors on NL. I have a sick 99ed 14str 9xlife dual 25+ res red mage on NL, and the offers are just sad. Trade it while it's still on ladder, and let the NL dins die to cold sorcs :)

Socketing doesnt add any more value then the soj you used. If your lucky it adds a soj. It is worth soj + with the socket on ladder..no idea about nl
