Help with my axe barb.

I was wondering if Rune Master ettin axe was viable in hell with an axe conc barb, and what I should put into the five open sockets. I just started playing again so I'm pretty close to dirt poor, with the exception of a crafted ammy and a +1 barb masteries 12% fhr gc. Also any tips on an axe conc barb would be highly appreciated. No it isn't viable

even if you put in something like 2 shael runes + 3 40% ED jewels it will barely be worthwhile in low player solo hell

go with razor's edge or death cleaver for a much faster attack speed and the tasty deadly strike

both of these weapons should be dirt cheap, most people throw them away

Oath is also a good, affordable weapon for a barb.

people throw out death cleavers now?! hmm well i think runemaster isnt a bad weapon, over 200%ed and you can shael, ed jewel, or amn it. dont forget honor either lol, 160% on a 5os weapon for some cheap runes, but you have to make it in a plain grey item

Try using the search function, I answered this question for someone else the other day :)

You need 105% ias total from all gear to get the axe to a decent speed. so you're looking at 4 shaels and an ias jewel, or 5 shaels, along with Highlord's Wrath amulet. You should be able to get ahold of a highlord's for a decent price.

I just traded away my rune master so that I could use a razor's edge tomahawk, and I haven't tested out the tomahawk yet. Thanks for the help and I hope to eventually play with y'all.

i found gimmershread pretty good but ideally a oath is prolly one of the best choices, nice dmg and usefull mods. or u can try ur luck in crafting a weapon, u can craft some really nice weapons if u get hold of a magic bezerker axe or something
