View Full Version : Question about Furysins and ITD

I've read all the Furysin build guides (including other names such as warrior-monk, and ninja guides), and they all agree that items w/ the modifier "Ignores Target Defense" are a must. They also all agree that monsters should not be targeted individually with blade fury; they suggest shift-clicking on an unoccupied space, and waving around the curser until all the monsters are dead. My question is, does ITD still work when you aren't targeting a specific monster (i.e. when you're doing what these guides suggest)?
Also, claw Mastery seems like a good way to boost AR, which all these guides lament. Yet none of them suggest Claw Mastery, why is this? Also, it seems like agood way to boost crit strike. Thanks much.

It's handy for normal monsters. It's not "a must".

That's pretty funny. Why do they recommend that?

Yes. The game doesn't care where you're aiming, it only cares what happens when one of your missiles intersects the target.

The main reason is that the top line BF weapons aren't claws. Even with claws, the gains from maxing CM aren't as great as they look either.

Simply put, when you change individual targets, your character goes through the "throw" animation for each target which takes precious time. When you shift-click, you only have to go through that animation once until you're done throwing.
That's not exactly true. If you can switch targets fast enough, she will continue to fire at the same rate with no interrupt.
That said, I tend to prefer 'strafing' when I have knockback, poison, or Open Wounds I wish to distribute to crowds.
edit - and to be complete, it's just as common for me to pick one target and "mow" through anything in front of it, or just kill that one before stepping anywhere near.

Ah, that makes sense. It does seem like you'd spend even more time than normal shooting at targets that weren't actually there because of desynch though.

I'm still not sure whether ITD activates if you're not targeting a specific monster.
Also, what is some good low level gear for a furysin. I'm lvl 22 and just started act 3. im using gleamscythe, the unique falchion, and a rare kite shield. also, where are good places to find items? i don't have any mf, as im mostly worried about staying alive.

Cleglaw's set is nice throughtout the entire game, and is available very early. I'd suggest reading up on Ristev's Furysin guide for leveling.
Finding gear is a matter of luck more than anything - though crafting, shopping, and gambling the right items helps a ton. I've started gambling any Battle Hammer I come across hoping for a nice combination of mods.
