I know this thread is coming up again when Retro had his own thread about this topic i just want to know that what he said before here:
Alright, T/V is what im gonna make.
IMO, smite is powerful enough. neglects def/ar.
Though do I have to have a grief? I'm probably gonna use a fury since I can't seem to get a good grief. Would that be the best option other than grief?
I would like to see some answers or choices on this, cause it was not answered when i read the thread(sorry Retro). So then what would be the best option other than grief?(2k-2.5k smite damage seems a bit impossible to reach)
Equip(just to clarify the whole thing):
Shako
Highlords
Enigma Scarab husk
Silence Zerker(is this okay?)
Upped ber'd HoZ
Raven frost/Bk ring
T-god's/ 14%dr string of ears
Trang's oul/Upped bloodfist
Goreriders
1Pcombat(lol...)
Skills
20 holyshield
20 fana
1 convic
20 foh
15 holyshock
rest into smite
Would this do okay?
At level 85 w/ equipment on...
FoH damage is 2911-3013 without Conviction...
I might wanna move the points a bit spread out, and still can't afford those Pcombats(only one so far, I'd prob get more in the future)
One last question though, will enhance damage% help much with smite?
AGAIN TO ALL EXPERTS OUT THERE, I'D TAKE ANY SUGGESTIONS POSSIBLE.

I'm not that much of an expert, but you won't last long enough to hit anything without grief.
Especially vs other smiters, zealots, barbs using grief.
Most of them will 2-3 hit KO you, depending on your equipment (life, PDR, etc.)
Your FoH dmg will be pathetic without PC's, and if you gather few plain ones, your life bulb will suffer.
My advise for people who can't afford 35+life PCs and want to make a paladin:
Go for a V/T only if you can afford at least 6-7 PC's with 2x-3x life and a Grief.
Make a hammerdin, you can't go wrong with this one - cheap, effective etc.
Make a pure FoH'er - but most of pub player will simply absorb you, so it's not a good idea.
EDIT:
to maximise your FoH dmg, make sure holy shock is one lvl higher than your FoH lvl - only when you don't max both though

thanks, I'll have 20 life vita scs, fhr scs, and 11% single resists scs with me all the time so that'll probably cover up a bit.
I can afford like...2 more Pcombat gcs to make it 3 total.
keep it coming~~let's hear out more voices :xmas15:

Go for this:
Skills
20 holyshield
20 fana
20 smite
Use skill planner to divide points between FoH and Holy Shock
1 convic
This is optimal. For a V/T, the use of FoH is only to force stack. Smite is the main killer.

I got a grief and I was stunned at the power of that thing. A smiter isn't a smiter without grief.
Though I did use a few weapons before I got a grief such as:
Doom Zerk
Death Cleaver
Fury Zerk
Asteron
Overall, I think Fury is the best. Open wound is just sweet vs. high def chars such as babas. For other chars, the dmg smite does is enough.
If you can't get a grief then go for a Fury. I was very satisfied with it.
Edmg% does help smite but the increase is minimal so I wouldn't focus on it.
Also I still like T/V over V/T.

Grief yes, it's required.
Though I very much disagree with you that you need 6-7 pcombats lifers.
I myself have 2 lifers on my T/V and he destroys 90% of pubs already. I also do private duels (gm) and he does even better because of sorb restriction. For a T/V or a V/T, the main factor is skill.
My paladin has 3.4klife atm with my own bo. It's low but it does its job very well.
In the days before Grief came out, and my V/T was only in its planning stages, I splurged on an Astreon's. Of course, two weeks later, I made a Grief for myself, but that's besides the point.
Personally I still think Astreon's is the second-best V/T weapon out there. An Um or Shael will do perfectly. High stats on it are obviously necessary; +4 will greatly boost your FoH and +Damage will help out your Smite a lot.

I'll take your word on that Retro.
I've made a v/t once, but had no skillers -.-
FoH dmg was a joke, life was around 4.5k, because I filled his inv with 20/xx scs.
Thats why I advised him to go with life PC's.

Thanks guys, I think i could probably afford 2 more Pcombats right now so I'll keep it at that and I might try fury zerker as well, but since I lack resists i think silence would be optimal when it comes to caster duels. Kingslayer does it good too, 33%cb +50%ow(kingslayerZ) vs 66%ow(fury), I think i'd just stick to kingslayerZ(slower by 10%ias though...)
Thanks guys, I'll try to get grief maybe some other time then (whats the price on NL grief? i bet its more than 10sojs+.....dear lord) :xmas22:

Use Fury in long duels and asteron in shorter duels.
Ofcourse lifers are better than plains but not neccesary.
